We wwnt to Chucks and had one of the worst experiences at a restaurant. The atmosphere was like a Denny's with steaks. The service was rude and did not even speak nor understand English. We saw another table with mashed potatos and asked for some only to be told they did not even offer them. The steak was bland and basic at best and I got the most expensive cut on the menu. I make better steaks on my grill at home. A definate place to stear clear of. more

A colleague and I are in Ft. Lauderdale for a conference. The concierge at our hotel suggested Chuck's for dinner. We hopped in a cab and were soon deposited at the front door. The hostess greeted us immediately and showed us to a booth behind the hostess station. I am a larger person, and as we sat down I looked around to see if we could sit at a table rather than a booth. All the tables appeared to be for groups of 6 people or more. I didn't want to cost the server tip money by having the two of us sit at a table for six, so we just took the booth. The uncomfortable booths are the only negative thing I have to say about Chucks. \r The server was right there whenever we needed anything, but she was not overly intrusive. The food came out promptly, and both my colleague and I really enjoyed it. I had lemon-pepper mahi mahi with baked potato and a cup of soup. The price was less than $20. \r When it was time to leave, the hostess offered to call us a cab. We didn't even have to prompt her to make the offer. I think that shows she was observant - she obviously noticed us getting out of the cab when we arrived. \r All in all, it was a good experience. i would suggest dining there to any of my friends. Pros: easy access, plentiful portions, reasonable prices Cons: uncomfortable booths more

One of the best filets I have ever eaten. Great salad bar and everything very fresh. Good value and great food! more

Good Cheese Burgers and sometimes I get the Tuna Melt in a toasted pita. Burgers are grilled the way you request it. They always taste like I grilled them at home. Which is tasty. The Tuna Melt is a good portion and tastes great inside the warm toasted pita bread. I always get fries served with my lunch.\r \r I almost always add the salad bar. This place along with the old/closed Raindancer Restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale started the salad bar concept. Not sure who claims to be first. lol. Must be Chuck's because they are still open hahaha. They have a good vegi selection and the plates are in a freezer so they are nice cold. Total old school here.\r \r Great place for quick service and a nice lunch. Never been there at night for dinner, but I heard it can get packed. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and look at the specials board when you walk in and Stay Hungry! more
