Christies Design/Build Remodel

We contacted Christie's for a whole house remodel and large addition. At our first meeting, we wanted to know if we could do the project for our budgeted amount and if we needed a space planner to help develop plans. Steve said he could do the plans and that we could do the project for our budgeted amount. He wanted money up front to start working on the plans, so trusting him we gave him a check. After several meetings, we realalized he was making the addition smaller without changing the budget, that the plans did not have the things we talked about, the layouts did not make sense and were poorly done, and that his price per square foot did not come close to the total amount budgeted...it was way over. So, we contacted him with our concerns and asked for a refund minus the work he did in order to hire a space planner. He agreed to refund 1/3 of the payment. We paid a lot of money for nothing, and are left to start over. Based on this experience he is unprofessional and we would not recommend his services, especially design work. We believe in paying people for their work, however, you should not say you can do something you are not capable of and then make the customer pay for it. more

I had my two upstairs bathrooms completely remodeled. They were gutted, and I got all new backboards, tiling in the shower and tub, toilets, showers, floors, European shower doors, and granite counter tops. This went on for exactly two months, and everything is gorgeous. The only problem I had was one day the tilers were running late, they were supposed to come at 9 and they came at 12. Other than that everything was great. more

I was provided with options and ideas that I hadn't previously considered. The work was done quickly and neatly. All of the workmen were highly skilled and polite. more

While Christie's is not the cheapest contractor, their work is of the highest quality. They spent the time understanding my needs, and provided on-going advice and suggestions. You could tell they had pride i their work, given their attention to detail and execution. They also met all deadlines, and worked overtime/weekends as needed to meet agreed upon completion dates. Their entire team worked together well. more

We hired Christie's to correct problems with our stairs caused by a previous contractor. Steve did careful and extensive investigation to solve the issues so I felt confident the problems were corrected. The cost felt fair and did not creep up. The timeline and quality of the finish work were average. more

The staff at Christies worked with my husband and I to identify the many issues on a house we had purchased in Commerce City. They are honest, their prices are reasonable, the work and their work ethic is excellent. My husband and I plan to hire Christies in the summer for other projects. more

I hired Christie's Design/ Build Remodeling to move my shed. He was pleasant and professional and offered a reasonable price. The only problem was that he didn't get back with me as quickly as I like. I had to chase him down after the work was done and I had a few questions. We always try to return calls within 24 hours. Since Steve is in the field much of the day, he usually trys to set aside a time each day to return calls. Christie's worked from my initial layout sketches, compensating for and modifying the basement utilities to provide a finished basement commensurate with the rest of the house. They provided suggestions for enhancement of my original design to make the space even more functional. No issues with workmanship or materials used. They did the work right versus trying to do it as cheaply as possible. more

We had a good experience with only a few problems that were handling as quickly as they could be. The over all work was done as professionaly as we expected. We were able to work together to get the flow and look we were looking for. I am very happy with my kitchen. Feel free to show the pictures or if you would just call and we can arrange a visit. I liked everything Christie's did, but I was going to call them about an issue with my double-gate falling over. Other than that, the windows, siding, and everything else is great. It was just that they put a heavy gate on an old post that could not support the weight. Also, the one window in the bedroom still doesn't close real well because the latch is coming loose. I still think they did a good job though. more

Christie's Design/ Build Remodeling was really good. With any kind of remodeling job on an existing house, you're gonna run into problems. One of the things I like about Steve, and the other guys at Christie's, is that they know how to get around these things. Before diving into the problem and just doing whatever, they sit down and talk with you about it, and that happens on almost every job that they've ever done for us. more

It was our first time using Christie's Design/Build Remodeling, and they finished the basement for us. The process was good, but it did take them a little longer than they said. Also, sometimes they didn't show up when they said they would, or came at a different time. However, the quality of work was excellent, and it looks great. more

Christie's was very professional. They came out and listened to what we wanted, and wrote up a proposal. The price was very good. The only issue we had was in communicating what we expected. There was a little confusion in the plannning phase, and the cabinets we ended up with were the wrong finish. Steve Christie worked with us to refinish the cabinets, and they turned out very well. We think he did a good job, despite the communication error. more
