Christa McAuliffe Planetarium

This is a nice museum for kids and adults, and it's very popular as a field trip destination. The shows tend to run about 45-50 minutes, so they are not too long, and they are mostly very entertaining. There are a number of hands-on exhibits in the areas outside the theater. It is small, but kids love it. Go with a group if possible. They also rent out the theater to groups after hours. If you plan company or personal events, this is a great option. I've been part of this a few times, and you would be surprised at how many people in the Concord area have never been here, and how much they enjoy the show! The staff is great, and you can also schedule staff led activities for kids. They have hands-on classes for kids, and I would imagine (though I am not sure) they likely do birthday parties as well. more

This is nice place to visit locally. It offers a planetarium, so you can watch great shows. The staff is very dedicated to education, so they offer alot of great activites, such as star veiwing with telescopes. They host girlscout and boyscout sleepovers, at least they used to years ago. They have an excellent gift shop. The one minus is that this little museum has a limited amount of things to do and if your kids get bored easily you might find yourself getting frustrated.
