The Scene
The trendy and dynamic clientele who frequent this hot spot don't seem to mind the intense purple, red and black color scheme and fancifully decorated mirrors above the booths, which might be a bit overwhelming for some.
The Food
An intriguing potpourri of Asian favorites--like Mongolian beef and Kung Pao chicken--and fusion dishes.
What to Order
Chinois' signature prawn potstickers are plump little delights. Fried and stuffed with goodies, they come kissed with sweet (but spicy) chili sauce and coconut. The house special chow mein, affectionately called "the three-pounder," comes highly recommended. A combination of chicken, pork, beef, prawns and scallops with "Hong Kong-style" noodles, this entree could easily feed three hungry people.
What to Skip
The "East West Specialties" (translation: fusion) are a little scary--seafood jambalaya ("Asian meets Cajun over 'Dirty' Fried Rice") in a Chinese restaurant? No, thanks.
