Great for kids! 7/26/2006

My kids love this place. It's a nice place to visit, especially on rainy days. They particularly love the water area, that is filled with balls that you can play with in the water. They also have a toy pizza place you can staff upstairs, including making the pizza and a delivery truck. They have a membership which is nice, and you can apply your first admission to the membership fee on that day. The membership also gives you a discount at the gift shop which has some nice toys. The only drawback is the food. It is really bad, and there are barely any restaurants I could find easily in the area. So bring your lunch or plan a specific place to eat before you get there. more

this is the perfect place to go if you want to spend an afternoon inside on a rainy winter day in the bay area. they have tons of different things to do and things that are appropriate for children of all ages (even those that are "older" children) and it's reasonably priced. fantastic place to be able to just hang out and have a good time! more

Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose 1/11/2006

The Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose is fun in every way- Even the building it is housed in is architecturally unique and painted purple! This is a great place to take your kids and at the time I went , they even offered free admission to families in need on certain days. The exhibits are all hands on- open things up, touch everything, make things, play with everything! You won't find anything behind a velvet cord here! more

Children's fun with learning 8/23/2005

This is kind of a BIG playground for kids. I wouldnt say it exactly exciting for adults (because it really isnt) but you will enjoy having your little one of your hands and laughing and playing for a while. There are tons of really cool experiments there, they just get kids so excited. Its stuff they might have never seen or experienced before (like putting your hand through a bubble without it pooping. I wouldnt say the price is exactly cheap, but it is managble. more

Hey kid, wanna learn about science 8/23/2005

This is a museum designed for kids who want to learn a thing or two about science. The experiments and games in the museum are aimed at kids between the ages of 5 and 10, I'd say. The place is very kid-friendly. The experiments are nothing amazing, but they do amaze little kids and I guess that's all that matters. more

Children's Discovery Museum 8/17/2005

The Children's Discovery museum in downtown is a great hands on experience for kids (and even adults). They have a permanent bubble making area, traffic intersection with stop lights, ambulance and fire truck, water play area (balls, boats) and tennis ball track (you'll know it when you see it). They vary the upstairs exhibits. The last time we went it was an exhibit on motion with rubber band slingshot cars and different audio experiences (foreign music/instruments, songs). more

Terrific Fun! 8/17/2005

This is a great place designed exclusively with little ones in mind. There is so much for kids to do and explore from a real fire engine to water play area to pizza making 'oven'. Kids can run around and explore and learn and enjoy as parents either watch from the sidelines or join in! The cost is a little high and you can see why. This is a gorgeous, bright, large facility where everything is kept in good condition. Exhibits are changed regularly and many special exhibits (such as the Sesame Street exhibit that was around for a few months last year) are often present. If yo plan on going more than once or twice you may want to consider a membership. more

Interesting kid's museum 8/11/2005

As a former 1st grade teacher, I recommend this museum to children of all ages. They offer fun cultural activies such as corn-husk doll making (Hopi Indians), to making other art projects, learning about today's technology, science of the human body, space, etc. This museum shows kids that there is a world of science around them that they can explore. Some of my former students were so captivated by the museum, they told me that they would one day be interested in a career in science. However, you may want to get a pass that admits you more than once, because the museum is much to big to explore all in 1 day. more
