While they have a wonderful decor and a sweet staff, an awesome fish tank and prizes for the kids, you better pray that your kid doesn't have an hints of cavities!! If they do, beware of over diagnosing and a referral scheme with an orthodontist and root canal specialist. My 3 yr old was told she had 5 cavities, 3 so bad they needed root canals and crowns. Turns out she needed regulation fillings in 3 teeth when I took her for a second opinion. My 8 yr old with a cavity (guess what she needed!!) also needed a root canal which was discovered half way through a regulation filling. She was given a temp filling and a referral. I was told I HAD to come back to them for a crown after the root canal was done. I took her to my dentist who filled the tooth. No root canal needed. No crown needed. I brought up the over diagnosis of my 3 yr old to the dentist who said I was wrong and that they never told me she needed all that work. So then I can only assume the staff takes it upon themselves to diagnos?? Which obviously would be malpractice and actually a criminal matter for someone who is not a DDS to diagnose and give treatment plan that hasn't been approved by the actual dentist. For the sake of your child, and your sanity, do NOT take your children here! more

I went there to get a second opinion. After sitting in the room for 2 hours (closer to 3 probably) with 2 small children, they pretty much dismissed me. Then they billed me for an "Emergency Exam" which I had to come out of pocket for that. Upon calling them and asking for clarification, I hung up the phone more confused than I was before. more

First, the positive. The waiting rooms, and exam areas are decorated with children in mind. Several flat screen TVs tucked in every imaginable corner (even over exam chairs) play children's movies. There are video games in the lobby, fun murals all around, and a small playhut for toddlers. The very small negative: When the waiting room is crowded (which is often), it isn't a fun place for grown-ups. The noise factor is high, there isn't a ton of elbow room, and the line for the bathroom can be frustrating. But my children love to go there, and I'm willing to drive the 40 minutes in each direction to get there. Tip: Try to get one of the last appointments of the day, and you'll avoid most of the hubub. more

Children's Dentistry of Woodstcok is very appealing to children the minute they walk through the door. TVs playing a kid's movie, video games and a treehouse makes the wait enjoyable. It's always busy there, but they are very efficient and you won't be waiting long. The staff and dentists are caring and warm and sensitive to those children who might be scared. Be sure to confirm your appointment the day before...if they don't confirm it, they will cancel your appointment. more
