Acording to their website they are listing themselves as Illinois third busiest airport. Hard to believe that what at first looks like a little airport could be ranked #3. But after driving around the entire airport recently I realized that it is way bigger in square feet than I thought and was much busier than I thought it would be also. Most of the planes are private, non-commercial aircraft, many of them are very tiny and are owned by wealthy businessmen. I'm sure it has become way busier since there is no Megg's Field anymore. also most of he area's private pilot instruction is taught from this base.
