Chicago Blackhawk Hockey Team

My grandmother actually used to work for Bill Wirtz. When I was a kid I used to go to a lot of games because she could get tickets. Back then the games were in the old Chicago Stadium and were packed to the rafters. These days, well, the Chicago Blackhawks are a sad, sad team. It costs hundreds of dollars to get a seat. The team? It sucks. Wirtz has always blamed Phil Jackson for letting salaries escalate in sports. As such, he does not believe in paying for players. He does not believe in broadcasting the games on television as a kind of punishment for people not coming to the games. He doesn't seem to understand that if he would just pay for a good team and put a quality product on the ice, people would come back. Go, go, Blackhawks! This legendary team plays at the United Center. If you ever get the chance to sit in the first row up against the glass it's something you will never forget. I did that one time and it was totally wild (and at times kind of scary!) But you'll have just as much fun in the "nose bleed" seats too. No matter where you sit I hope you cheer on the mighty Blackhawks during their next season of play. The crowd gets rowdy and don't I repeat don't wear hats or shirts from other teams unless you want to hear people yelling stuff at you. Has anyone seen that Seinfeld episode where Elaine wears a hat from an oppossing baseball team at a N.Y. game? more

Let me think of possible candidates for horrible owners. The owner of the Cincinnati Bengals is bad, as is Donald Sterling of the Los Angeles Clippers. Maybe the pathetic Golden Warriors have poor management, but Wirtz takes the cake. Please sell the club. Anything would be better than you. I go to a few games a year as does everyone I know. Its pathetic that I have to go to the game if I want to see them play at home as every game is blacked out if its not a sell out. more
