Do Not Use This Vet They nearly killed my golden just for money. they are only interested in making money. never taker your beloved pets in the door if you want to see them alive. more

Very Good 5/14/2011

I've dealt with two different vets, both were very patient, informative and clearly loved dogs. Contrary to other opinions, they didn't push expensive procedures on me. more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unless you have ridiculous amounts of money to waste! Brought a dog to these people for a minor skin irritation. They said it was an allergic reaction. They charged me over $300 including $150 for 2 weeks worth of generic antibiotics I could have bought at Costco for $16 that is an 800% markup on the typical consumer price .... I am beyond disgusted and will never ever use them again. more

STAY AWAY from this vet clinic 12/13/2010

If I could give less than a one star rating, I would. This was my first and last visit to this veterinary clinic. I came to this clinic out of necessity as my female Maine Coon cat appears to have fallen and hurt her hip. I decided to bring my other Maine Coon for both to have their annual check up. Ashley Blum took both cats' vitals and were seen by Dr. Leslie Meko. Dr. Meko suggested senior panel for my female Maine Coon and the same for my other Maine Coon at a later date. Since I had both cats there and they are brother and sister, I agreed to go ahead with a senior panel for both. When Dr. Meko pick my male Maine Coon up to take him in the back for the blood collection, I aske if I could go and she said "No, I have Ashley to help me." During the attempted blood collection, my male cat let out screeches like he was being hurt. Honestly, it sounded like they were killing him. His painful screeches cause another customer in the lobby to go into the back and ask "Is that Lucy more

When Dr. Meko pick my male Maine Coon up to take him in the back for the blood collection, I aske if I could go and she said ""No, I have Ashley to help me."" During the attempted blood collection, my male cat let out screeches like he was being hurt. Honestly, it sounded like they were killing him. His painful screeches cause another customer in the lobby to go into the back and ask ""Is that Lucy?"" After the second loud and painful screech, I went into the back. I was absolutely shocked at what I heard and saw. Ashley Blum had my cat by the scruff of the neck, where he has a tumor that was examinted by Dr. Meko. Holding him in this inappropriate fashion above her head and yelling at him: ""We'll have none of that."" I took my cat and carried him back to the exam room. Dr. Meko followed. She suggested sedation for blood collection in the future. I told her No and that was not going to happen. My cat is 10 years old and this was not his first blood collection. I was with him in the exam room for his first blood collection at another Veterinary Clinic. They drew the blood in the exam room and did not move him to another location. He did fine and didn't struggle at all. Ms. Blum should be reprimanded and sent to sensitivity training on proper animal handing at the least, if not terminated. I'm sure my pet is not the first or last to be treated in this horrific unprofessional manner. I voiced my concerns to Dr. Meko to which she justified Ms. Blum's inappropriate and unprofessional behavior by saying ""Sometimes we say and do things out of a reaction."" I'm shocked that no one from this clinic called me today to ask how my male cat is doing. I guess doing so would admit fault and accept responsibility. Prior to this horrible vet visit, my male cat was able to jump onto the bed without any difficulty. Today he cannot. I'm positive this is due to improper handling by Cherrydale Veterinary Clinic Staff, to include Ms. Blum, during the attempted blood collection. The only follow up was an automated email survey. I will NEVER go back to this vet clinic and I will NEVER recommend this vet clinic to anyone. more

Cherrydale Veterinary Clinic is Fantastic 7/22/2009

If you need to trust your vets the way you trust your own doctors, I think Cherrydale Vet Clinic is the place to go. \r \r Dr. House and Dr. Szymanski are two of the most knowledgeable vets I've ever dealt with.My calls are returned the very same day, and if it goes to voicemail, be prepared to hear one of the most detailed and informative phone messages you'll ever receive. I only wish others I deal with daily were as efficient.\r \r The staffers are skilled and caring, and they'll go to great lengths to answer seemingly trivial questions on issues going on with my pets. \r \r I think their fees are reasonable, and they're open on weekends, which is great if you have a busy or hectic schedule. They even make house calls to see pets that don't travel easily. \r \r I trust Cherrydale Vet Clinic implicitly with my pet's health care, and I recommend them all pet owners. more

Dr. House was fantastic, very thorough, very educational. We have had major skin issues with both of our dogs and Dr. House was so informative and eager to start a program for them. Very pleased and would recommend her highly. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. more

They need to fine tune certain services to be outstanding 12/14/2008

The vets and boarding are fine. Beware of hidden exam cost. Baths are very expensive and NOT a satisfactory job. The tear stains on my puppy didn't even come out. The groomers at Petsmart charges $16.00 and the tear stains are gone and the dog looks washed and blow dried which they didn't even do. Some of the receptionists there are not friendly at all--which they need to be as much as they charge. I'm willing to pay extra for excellent care on my pet BUT I appreciate honesty and professionalism from everyone starting with the greeter/cashier. more

Great Customer Service 11/29/2008

I can't discount the posts below from folks who were less than satisfied from their experience with Cherrydale, as I wasn't there at the time, but I sure would like to! I've been a client for almost 5 years and I can tell you without question that the customer service I have recieved has been nothing short of phenomenal.\r \r Is it a little bit more expensive than other clinics? Probably so. However, I can't tell you how many times I have called my vet at Cherrydale and she has called me back the same day (usually within a few hours) and has taken the time to answer my questions at length. She also makes sure to tell me when to NOT bring my animals in, because she doesn't want me to incur the extra charges. Furthermore, over the past year or so my aninals have required a lot of veterinary care which of course, equals $$ for me. At Cherrydale, they understand this, and I can't tell you how many times they have knocked a charge off my bill here and there when they could to save me money. T more

Absolutely the Best 5/14/2008

We have been taking our cats to Cherrydale for nearly 30 years. During that period, five of them lived to be older than 19 (two lived to be 21), and we attribute that largely to twice-yearly geriatric evaluations by a succession of skilled Cherrydale doctors, astonishing diagnostic talents, skillful surgical techniques, and wonderful referrals. Two years ago, after her oncologist indicated that our last cat's cancer had reached the point where her quality of life was plummeting, we arranged for a home visit to have her euthanized without the stress of a drive to the clinic. Dr. Boughanem and one of the technicians came to our house on a Saturday afternoon, performed the euthanasia, and cried with us when it was over. Cherrydale's technicians and receptionists are responsive and extremely client-oriented, and this clinic boasts some of the best equipment in the area. I love watching their technicians handling the animals in their care. The whole staff seems to take delight in interactin more

Owner Message
  • Cherrydale Veterinary Clinic believes in practicing the best recommended medicine available following the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) endorsement which means pets should be examined twice a year : Once for urinalysis and blood work and once for vaccines. Since pets age 7 years on average for each 1 human year, change can happen extremely fast resulting in serious conditions occurring very rapidly and in order to prevent and detect conditions early we feel examining twice a year is necessary. We customize the approach depending on each individuals needs. Most of these Lab procedures can be done with our in-house lab equipment during the exam time. During an exam we frequently run blood work and or ultrasounds to be examined by a certified Radiologist if need be and then have the interpretation to discuss with owner during the appointment. To prevent disease we vaccinate yearly because immunity is uncertain on the length vaccines last. Cherrydale recommends having blood work done on your pet to determine if there is anything serious going on. The earlier we can detect problems, the more we can do to minimize the effects of those problems. In addition to the quality and length of life issues the monetary cost of prevention is much less than the cost of treating conditions..
