If you have never tried this, what fun. It is an ex-military vehicle/ boat that floats but is also on wheels. Very interesting. They will take you on a small tour of Chattanoog...

Quack Quack!! 10/27/2005

If you have never tried this, what fun. It is an ex-military vehicle/ boat that floats but is also on wheels. Very interesting. They will take you on a small tour of Chattanooga and then a tour of the Tennessee River. Touring last about an hour. Hard to maneuver a big stroller so if you have one, take an umbroller. Also, it can be pretty hot in the summer so wait until it cools down a bit. Great fun though. more

Fun way to tour the city 10/24/2005

The Chattanooga Ducks is a great way to get a tour of downtown Chattanooga and the riverfront. With all the additions to the Chattanooga riverfront over the past year, there is no better time to hop on a duck and take a tour. The "ducks" are military vehicles that can travel on roads, as well as through water. The are all outfitted with a canopy so that you have shelter from the sun during hot days. A tour guide will lead your trip and point out lots of interesting things along the way. The first part of the tour is on land and then you head down to the river where you'll be able to see the aquariums, Ross' Landing and more from the river. This is really a fun and neat tour and a great thing to take out of town guests on. more

Fun Time On Land And Water 8/29/2005

Hop, or should I say waddle, on board one of these WWII amphibious vehicle and enjoy a guided tour of historic Chattanooga, via the Chattanooga Ducks. See the building that housed the first ever Coca Cola bottling plant, and the gathering point for the Cherokee Indians exodus out west on the historic Trail of Tears at Ross' Landing on the Tennessee River. This hour long narrated tour travels through the downtown area as the Captain tells the story of the amphibious vehicles used during WW II, and points out historical features of the downtown area. The tour then, moves to the water, as the vehicle makes a short trip up the river to Mc Clellan Island , a wildlife sanctuary near the Chattanooga art district. The cost is $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for children, with a 2 dollar discount for seniors. If you're lucky, you may even get a chance to pilot the Duck. It is a fun and informative trip for all ages. more

Ride the Ducks 8/18/2005

For a unique tour of the city, ride the ducks. Not the cute, little quacking ducks, but a special type of amphibious vehicle. The ducks will take you on a tour of downtown and then plunge into the Tennessee River for a view from the water. A fun time for all! more
