My, my, my, how time and new owners do change a business. The menu had many things ""not available tonight"" even though it was 6 pm. The waitress tried her best under a bad situation....the entree arrived within 90 seconds of delivering the salad. An up-charge for an extra Thousand Island dressing on the salad. Don't agree for the bacon when she asks if you want that on the salad...another up-charge. The baked potato was cooked hours ago and reheated...it was dark yellow and musty. The sour cream had liquid smoke mixed with it.. AND THE WORST THING....was the owner never looking away from her conversation about a shower/party with a waitress when she processed my credit card...not a thank you, how was everything or a kiss my behind. This retro restaurant is really not retro...it just never changed from 1950. It's dark inside with paneled walls, checkered table cloths, and waitresses dressed like nurses. The steaks are known the world over. Many of the folks who were stationed at Ft. Campbell, or have lived in Clarksville, TN or Hopkinsville, KY are surprised to find the place is still open decades later. People travel to eat here from a 50 mile radius because the steaks are unmatched anywhere and the atmosphere is legitimate 1950s.
