Dr. VD has a great bedside manner and is generous with his time, explaining everything and making sure his patients feel comfortable. He stays on top of current medical practices. He delivered three of my children, including a set of twins which was a high risk pregnancy involving months of bedrest. His staff is very capable and friendly as well.\r \r His refusal to refer for pregnancy terminations is part of what drew me to his practice. I see no reason why doctors should not be allowed to live out their personal beliefs in their professional lives, and freely choose (choice!) to not do terminations. I love Dr Van Duyne! and his staff! I have been seeing him for almost 3 years and the staff has always gone out of their way to make me feel taken care of and looked after. Whenever I call... I talk to real people! and always get call backs if needed they go out of their way to make you feel like the only patient they have and genuinely care about your well being physically as well as mentally. I drive almost an hour to see him now because I have moved 3 times in the last 3 years and I wouldn't change for anything. Its hard to find a good doc that you are comfortable with and he is one that you can have an exam and talk about anything with afterwards with no worries. I cant recommend anyone higher! more

I was researching doctors to select a new OB/GYN and found this doctor to be skilled, conveniently located, well-educated, etc., but before setting an appointment I did what most people do these days, and that is to drop the name into Google. Much to my dismayed, I found him prominently featured on lists of doctors who are anti-choice. I found it very hard to believe that someone who actually knows the stories of his patients, that we swould still deny them the right to choose the best path for themselves. \r \r Just to be fair, I asked him in email if the information I found was accurate, and responded that he supports choice, he simply will not perform terminations nor refer to anyone who does. If that's not anti-choice, then what is it? It rather like a giant telling a child she can have a piece of candy if she can get it out of his hand. There's no chance of it.
