I've worked for Char Rich Kennels for 16 years now as a dog groomer and kennel asst manager. Although it is not glitz and glamor like some of the newer places now. We have the only kennel in town with 20foot indoor/ outdoor runs for the dogs. We follow the clients instructions to a tee if at all possible and cater to the older animals we board with us. Our prices are reasonable, and the care is excellent. The owner lives on the property, so someone is around all the time. The staff is small, but we actually DO care about your pet and treat it as if it were our own. We have been in business since 1975 owned by the same family. We?ve been taking our four wheel drive ?kids? to Char-Rich Kennels for over ten years and wouldn?t think of taking them anywhere else. Though the kennel is in San Antonio, its unique location gives it a peaceful, country atmosphere where the ?kids? can thoroughly enjoy the view from the outside runs. The special attention and personal care they?re given during their visits are reassuring to us because we know they are in safe and caring hands. Bill Taylor, the owner and manager, recently went out of his way to personally drive one of our pets across town to our veterinarian so our little guy could receive medical care. On another occasion when a problem arose with one of our pets with special-needs, Bill didn?t think twice about contacting us in Hawaii to resolve the problem. I have boarded my dogs with Char-Rich many times over several years. Bill takes care of my dogs like they were his dogs. He makes sure they are fed as instructed and my puppies always come home clean and shiny after boarding. \r \r I also take them to Char-Rich for grooming and have done so for many years. Laurie does excellent, professional grooming--and schnauzers aren't easy. \r \r Their prices are very reasonable AND they care! I would not hesitate to recommend them to to anyone needing a safe place to park their dogs or a place to have their dogs groomed. more

The whole family had to go out of town for a whole week and we had to find someone to take in all the animals. 4 Large dogs, 5 Cats, and a bird. char rich had no problem taking them all in. While they were there they had thier check-ups and were given there vacinations and all of them were groomed. The price was very reasonable and the animals were very well taken care of. It was nice to have one place to take all the animals to so they weren't spread out all over town. I will take the critters back here anytime I have to board them somewhere. I was very happy with the outcome. more
