Chapel Hill Obstetrics & Gynecology

I know there are complaints about the waits, but it's no different from any of the other practices I've gone to. I am currently going there for my ob care, and I have been very pleased by the personalized attention of the docs there. I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes, and I was immediately seen and given all the time I wanted for my questions to be answered. The front staff is friendly, and it's a nice little touch to have the extensive coffee/tea selection in the waiting room. Overall, I have no significant complaints. Highly recommended. I moved to Chapel Hill over 6 years ago. Upon first moving here I settled on this practice as there are not many to choose from in the area. The first few years were fine. Dr. Clark was great in and out, very busy but friendly. Short , sweet, simple visit...what I look for. Last year, during my visit with Dr. Clark, as I lay spread eagle on the table, she gets a text from her cell in her pocket. She then proceeds to take her glove off; studies the text with laughter & smiles; responds to the text as I am her last client on a Friday evening & she no doubt has plans ...washes hands puts on new gloves and returns to the checkup! I was horrified!!!!\r A glutton for punishment I go back for my yearly a few months ago to find I would not be seen without my insurance card, the same insurance card i've had on file for all these years. I am done!!!\r Patrons beware. They are there for the sole reason of making money & do not care about their patients....Also expect long wait times!!!!!!!!!!!! more

I am pregnant with my first child and was recommended to this practice by a co-worker. My last two appointments in two months have been cancelled due to ""family emergencies"" within the practice. The first cancellation was because another doctor - not even the one I was seeing - had a family emergency and apparently my doctor was covering some of the other doctor's appointments. I was not happy that they called and canceled less than an hour before my appointment, but decided it was uncontrollable. I was 2 hours late for work that morning and had to miss more work later in the week for my rescheduled appointment. At my rescheduled appointment, I had to wait over an hour to be seen. The office called me at 7:30 this morning to cancel my 10am appointment for an ultrasound. This would have been my first appointment in over a month (and my last appointment was canceled also) and I have been very worried there is something wrong. I was told this cancellation was due to a family emergency as well. I was rescheduled for later in the week at a time that will mean I will have to miss the second half of my work day and my husband will not be able to go with me due to work obligations. I am currently looking into switching to another practice because I find their frequent cancellations unacceptable. This is the only private practice in Chapel Hill, and I really wanted a physician in a private setting, versus seeing a resident from UNC or Duke. When I asked around for recommendations for an ob/gyn, everyone said that this was THE practice to go to. The docs all seem really knowledgeable and experienced. I find their website to be very convenient since I can schedule appointments online as well as request refills. The only drawback is that the wait can be long at times. However, when I am seen, I always get as much time as I want, which is very important to me. Overall, attentive care. Pros: Experienced and caring physicians in a private setting, great website Cons: Wait can be long, but you get as much as time as you want when seen more
