Okay, I was there last night and it was great. Of course its not a high priced salon so I am not rating it like its a high priced salon. Im rating it on being a beauty school and in my opinion, its a 5 star beauty school. more

Horrible! If you want to see a lot of horseplay and goofing off then this is your place. I had a horrible hair cut done and when one of the teachers walked up to ask how I was doing they smelled like marijuana. Not a pleasant experience at all. more

I attended central state. It was the worst mistake of my life. They do not care about the students education. They only care about their money. I attended this school 8 months, no grants, just loans. I had a son in daycare. When my caseworker called to varify that I was attending fulltime(which I was) their director told him that I was not. And I lost my daycare and was forced to drop but yet still pay the full tuition! I have several friends that similar things happened to them as well. I was constantly harrased constantly by teachers. I felt like I was back in elementary school. After dropping there I attended The Academy of hair design, and graduated. That school is amazing! central state insructors don't know anything and don't care! They know nothing about color or cutting techniques! They have outdated supplies and tools. It's just wrong! And I feel sorry for anyone who attends this school or is a client there. When I attended ever student was miserable! Please run far far away f more

I recently went to Central State for the first time. The staff is friendly and professional and always onsite to help students with their assignments. The actual business was very clean. They had just recently gotten new carpet and tile so it looked excellant. The students really looked to be enjoying themselves. I was very impressed. more

For a hair cut...you can't compare...It's only $6.50 I believe without any styling or anything. You can't beat that price. However on some of the other services...you're really not saving money and you're having an inexperienced person do it. I got my brows waxed there once...girl did not do a good job...but then again she doesn't know what she's doing...and this procedure is NOT cheaper than other places. So just be careful. I think getting your hair styled here would be great....and if you don't mind your hair not coming out right...then no worries and save a few bucks. Just go in knowing that it's not going to be as good as a nice salon. I have had some good cuts and some not so good ones..at the time it was worth saving the money to me. So I didn't mind too much. Staff is not very professional and aren't always around when the stylist has a question...the cut can take up to 2 hours and the wait can be an hour sometimes too...so go when you have time to kill! more

Centeral State's students are very closely monitored while they are doing any process. This is a great place for teenage girls to go for updo's before the prom. I saw a bunch of teenage girls getting their hair done for the prom and they looked great. The nice thing is they did not have to spend a fortune. more

I took my daughter in here the other day just because we could not get an appt with her regular stylist. The prices are affordable. The wait was pretty long. I would be a little nervous about any major think like color or perms. The staff was not all that professional, either.
