Much Better Now 6/21/2016

I agree with some of the reviews posted here, I left a few years ago because of the rude staff, especially the girl who answered the phone. I have recently returned with my family, because I have found similar customer service problems at other offices. I was pleasantly surprised and happy they no longer have the same staff. Customer service is excellent now. I will definitely keep coming back for my families dental needs if they keep things going the way they are now. FYI, they were remodeling the waiting area, so I don't know if they have re-installed the TV yet. more

Staff is totally disrespectful 11/6/2013

The staff forgot to schedule my 6 month appointment. I called several times to try to get an opening but they gave me an appointment over 6 months out. The office manager Brea was horrible! She hung up on me several times, cut me off when I spoke, and blamed me for their office error. The dentists are good but there staff is a disgrace. If you expect customer service you won't get it from any member of their staff. more

Tried Twice, I'm done 7/16/2010

My issue is mainly with the admin staff, who have been unprofessional, unpleasant, and uncaring in my opinion. I had been to CDDG several years ago for a routine cleaning, and just setting up my appointment was a challange. The person who I spoke to multiple times on the phone was just plain rude. I had to make multiple calls to CDDG to sort out some insurance issues and each time the person on the phone made me feel as if I was a burden on their day. That I had interupted an important task. I finally had my appointment set up and found Dr. Lakha to be professional and competent, but it was just a cleaning and initial exam. In the waiting area I witnessed the 'important' tasks I felt I had interupted in so many phone calls. Gossip. Recently, I called to try and set up a routine exam and cleaning, and I believe the rude receptionist is still there. Apparently, I wasn't in their system under the insurance plan I told her, even though I was logged into my carrier's website and looking right at my chosen facility listing of CDDG. She said I'd have to call them and get assigned to CDDG... But I am assigned I said. Well, you'll have to call them and get it sorted out, ok? No, it's not ok, which is why I called my carrier and changed my dentist. more

Worst Dentist Office Ever "Money Hungry" 5/20/2010

Good: The only thing I liked about the place was the actual dentist Dr. Nicholson He seem to be knowledgeable and very nice until he suggested I invest into two porcelain caps and if I need a root canal later he would just drill Thur the brand new cap. I found that odd considering that most dentist always do the root canal first and than place a cap on! In the end I canceled my appointment for that cap, and decided that I would give them another shot cleaning my teeth!. Bad: It seems as thou there are about 10 dentist assistants and only 1 or 2 dentist, this is a dentist school. The front desk staff are rude have have no since of customer service. Molly who is the "money hungry monster" will sit behind that desk and over charge you for services. My insurance clearly states that my first visit was a co pay and to diagnose a problem was free, after getting from the chair do you know I had to pay $60 for my first vist and nothing was done. I didnt make a fuss I paid, that was wrong. Improvements: When I came back for my cleaning I must admit I was early, but they will turn you away if you are 5 mins late I was so early that she told me to come back. I asked her is there anyway to fit me in earlier since I was already here, and no one was waiting in the office after 45mins of me waiting she said "no you have to come back" Now they have lost a patient but I'm sure Molly the Monster doesn't care.If I was you find another place because this place is on the lower level and offers the lowest level of serv. more

Very unprofessional 5/17/2010

“Charged for services that were not preformed.” Our family needed a new dentist since our family dentist retired. I explained this to the receptionist at Central DuPage Dental Group. They said they would set me up with a dentist. A couple of days later, I came in to evaluate their facility and I did meet with Dr Nicholson. I asked him about five questions; for example, if he would still be working with this dental group in five years. He said most likely not. After a few more questions, we quickly came to the decision that this way not the dental office for me. I thanked Dr Nicholson for his honesty and left. There was no oral evaluation; Dr Nicholson did not look in my mouth. However, my insurance company was billed $80.00 for an oral evaluation. I should also mention, while in the waiting area I had an opportunity to hear and see the administrative staff. I noticed at one point the administrative staff talking about their shoes while a phone call went unanswered. During one office discussion, an assistant said that another employee called in to say she will be late and then said to the others “I told her not to hurry and get into an accident, unless of course you are driving your boy friend’s car” ….. Regarding the administrative staff, these are little things. However, you it just made you question their professionalism. I called my insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield, to let them know that this bill they just paid is not right. (no money out of my pocket… but just not right in this day of high medical cost) The insurance company called Central DuPage Dental and then got back to me. BCBS was told by Central DuPage Dental that they remembered me and that I was a problem from the beginning and that Dr Nicholson did an oral evaluation that took about twenty minutes. All this is not true, I hardly interacted with the admin staff; I was a silent observer. I met with Dr Nicholson for less the 5 minutes and he never look into my mouth. How competent Central DuPage Dental is I can not say; more

Dr. Lakha/ TERIBBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1/30/2010

I have DMO Dental, so I had to go to this office. I arranged an emergency appointment with Dr. Lakha because I was having problems with my wisdom teeth. When I sat down in the chair she started to examine my teeth without putting a glove on. Then after only looking in my mouth for a minute she recommended I get another tooth pulled in addition to my wisdom teeth, without taking any x-rays because she said that it was bad. I left her office and went to have my wisdom teeth removed the next day and upon the other dentist taking x-rays before he pulled my teeth, he said he would not pull the additional tooth she recommended because it was fine and only needed a filling. Two weeks later, I went back to see Dr. Lakha for a full examination. Once again I sat down in her chair and she started to look at my teeth. She asked me why I did not have the other tooth removed that she wanted me to have taken out. I told her that the other dentist took x-rays and said it only needed a filling. After I said this she looked at the x-rays she had just taken and said, “I guess you’re right it is okay, it just needs a filling.” After that she went over everything else in about 10 minutes and told me everything looked okay. I asked her about my gums and she said they looked fine and she didn’t even chart the pockets. I found this quite odd because I have gum disease. She then cleaned my teeth in a world record amount of time, 10 minutes, and it looked like she only took ten minutes. I asked her about a stain that was left on one of my teeth that my other dentist could always get off when I went for a cleaning. She said that the only way to get it off would be to have it professionally cleaned. After I left her office I called my insurance company and filed a complaint against her and did a fax form so I could be put on another dentist’s list for the next month. Dr. Lakha is the worst dentist I have been to and she is extremely rude and short with her patients. more

Central Dupage Dental Group staff could use customer relations training 8/17/2006

I agree that friendliness is not their strong point, and neither is timeliness. I have been there long enough to witness their method of putting every call on hold, regardless of how busy they really are. The actual dental care is OK, but there are no extras, like a reminder post card in the mail or a new toothbrush or a hint that they ever remember that you've been there before. more

They take every insurance imaginable, so they're busy as heck 9/26/2005

The office is nice enough, they either have a fountain or play music that sounds like a fountain, I suppose to relax the patients. The staff is very busy, so service is often slow. I think I've been put on hold every time I've called. But they have systems, so if you need work done you always know how much it's going to cost up front. Friendliness is not their strong point. I'm no longer a patient there because my dentist had the audacity to ask me if my pregnancy was planned (I know out of context that doesn't sound so bad, but trust me, it wasn't meant in a friendly way.) more
