Above and Beyond 3/6/2014

We are heading out on a road trip so I went in for an oil change and smog check. Ended up I had major issues with my battery which they fixed in a timely manner. more

Central Coast was courteous. They did the repairs and smog test in a timely manner. They provided a ride back home while they worked on car. I did not have to wait in waiting room. more

Quick and thorough service 2/21/2014

First time at this business. I called first thing in the morning to see about getting my car smog check done. They said they had an opening at 9a.m. I asked how long it would take and they said it would be about fifteen minutes. I showed up at 8:57a.m. and they were helping another customer. After a short wait, I told them about my appointment and the paperwork was processed. After another few minutes, I was able to pull my car into place and the technician hooked up the machine and started the test. When the test was done and the payment made, I went back to my car and was surprised to see it was only 9:20 a.m.! Back to work in record time and happy to find a great car repair shop so close. more

the technician was rude and sent me away. 2/20/2014

I took my vehicle in to have a smog check. After maybe ten minutes the technician came into the office and said "I can't smog check that. It's a gross polluter." I didn't know if I should pay for the smog check or what, and I asked "So I should just take it and go?" The technician replied that there were hydrocarbons all around it and added "And the choke light is on." I told him "I pulled out the choke when it was cold in order to start it." He denied having touched the choke, and said "I'm going to die soon enough, I don't need to breathe that." At that point I gave up and left. It seemed a waste to point out a second time that if he had pushed in the choke knob the choke light would extinguish. I would have expected an automotive technician to be familiar with the operation of a manual choke on a carbureted engine, even though it is outdated. I don't plan to take my vehicles there again. more

Smog Check 2/9/2014

The guy who works there Gary doesn't even look you in the face when he's talking to you. He saw that my car had a cold air intake and said that it was too modified to pass smog. The car passed the emissions part but he failed the cosmetics. Come on ...my car doesn't pollute as it is an 06 and only has 12,000 miles on it. He put the fail into the DMV data base and I had a very difficult time getting it to pass smog someplace else. I would not recommend him or his business to anyone. more

Car didn't pass but Gary was cool 1/29/2014

My car didn't pass smog and it looked like the solution was a replacement part. I had to wait a week to get money and Gary agreed to let me get it installed the following week and re-smog for free. I always smog my cars here. Best place around. more
