Ruby's home away from home 11/17/2008

Ruby, a Cavalier King Charles has been a client of Bark Chicago Bucktown since she was 6 months old, she is now 4 years. Bark has done so much for my Ruby; from teaching her to walk up and down stairs as a frightened pup, to boarding, baths and hair cuts. I can not think of any service that I use that makes it so easy for me, the Bark Crew picks her up from my home and returns her 3 days a week when she has play care. In addition, I travel a lot for work and they are always there to step in and take her in, they provide an overnight stay report and she comes home all bathed and happy. Pros: personalized service, pick up and drop off. more

THUMBS DOWN 5/22/2008

Bark USE to be a great place, but the last few experiences with them has been difficult. The woman who schedules daycare and boarding is not only rude to her Customers but to the Veterinarian too. Pros: Great Facility Cons: Rude Service more

Get treated like a princess! 3/24/2008

Marie the groomer gave my shy little yorkie all the time she needed. With SPABARK, I never, EVER will sit in rush hour traffic again! I love that they don't overcharge for the groom and I consider the travel fee a treat! I feel like a princess when their full service spa comes to my doorstep. They are good at making me feel special and my little pup feel spoiled. How could you not love that? Okay! Pros: clean more

Loved Bark Chicago! 11/16/2007

We boarded our dog for 8 nights with Bark Chicago (West Loop location) and was extremely happy with their services. We were very hesitant with boarding our dog for so many nights but had done some reasearch online and found that Bark Chicago had facilities that met our needs. \r *Bark Chicago separates large dogs from the smaller dogs during the day.\r *The facility has ""boarding suites"" which bascially means that your little guy has a private area where he can sleep in his own dog bed at night. \r *Bark Chicago really pays attention to any of your pets needs and really does follow through with any special needs of your pets. \r *The staff at Bark Chicago knows your pet and is enthusiastic. \r *The facility is extremely clean and was very welcoming to our little guy. Pros: Clean facility and great staff more

MOBILE GROOMING IS CONVENIENT AND EXCELLENT!! 7/9/2007

Within the first two months of moving to Chicago with our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Molly, we had two disastrous grooming experiences, then we found the Mobile Spa/Grooming from BARK Chicago!! Marie is an incredible groomer, and knows the special needs of a Cavalier!! Jennifer (the owner) was so gracious and made sure we were able to get an appointment that was convenient for us. Having entire grooming set-up come to us was fantastic, and Molly looked great!! We will only be using BARK Chicago for all of our grooming and boarding needs in the future!! Jean & JP & Molly Wirick \r Pros: Mobile grooming comes to you!! Cons: NONE! more

My dog loved it 5/11/2007

My dog absolutely loved going to doggy day care here. He would have so much fun that he would fall asleep for the night almost immediately after getting home. We recently moved and were very sad that we couldnt take this place with us. The prices are reasonable, hours are great, and the staff is friendly. more

BARK is the BEST! 4/23/2007

Not only do I love BARK - but my dog Logan does too! He always shows such excitement when he knows he's going to BARK. And the best part is, Logan is exhausted at the end of the day!\r BARK is dependable and always has the best interest of the dogs in mind. Jennifer and the rest of the crew go above and beyond to ensure the pups have a safe and happy place to play. Jennifer is easy to get ahold of and always promptly responds to my emails when I need to contact her. BARK definitely is the BEST! Pros: friendly, reliable staff who care greatly for the pups; safe and fun place to play; great socialization for dogs; client drop off makes transportation easy; clean; great outdoor play space; free baths Cons: none! more

Kane loves it and so do we! 4/23/2007

Our dog Kane has been going to BARK since puppyhood and the staff treats him as if he's their own. In addition to the house, they have a huge outdoor area (the biggest and funnest setup I've seen in the city) that also has a large tent that is heated in the winter and air-conditioned in the summer. They also have kiddie pools for the the dogs to play in during the summer!\r Kane is always so happy to go to BARK and I know he is well taken care of by everyone on staff every day that he is there. He comes home tired and smelling good! (They keep it VERY clean!) Plus, after every ten visits, he gets a complimentary bath -- which is great!\r We highly recommend BARK Chicago! more

Best Doggie Daycare Staff in Chicago 4/16/2007

My labs Jake & Riley LOVE going to BARK. They go nuts as we pull up each mornng and bolt into the front door when it opens. The staff that Jen (the owner) has hired are amazing...true animal lovers. Listen to them as they talk to the dogs in the yard....it says a lot. They're calm and nice to them...even when they may be acting up. Another pro is the great 2nd dog discount at BARK and free bath after 10 daycare days. The only con is the drop off/pick up near Western Avenue...it's very busy. Pros: Staff, 2nd dog discount, Free bath, location near the expressway, outdoor play area Cons: drop off/pick up on busy Western Avenue more

Great place for my dog! 4/16/2007

I have been sending my dog to Bark since she was 10 weeks old. She loves it. She can't wait to run inside and at the end of the day she is tired and ready to come home. I have also boarded her at Bark and she loved it. The people at Bark clearly care about all of the dogs. Because of Bark, my dog is well socialized and well exercised. I highly recommend it. Pros: Dogs are well socialized, clean, great staff more

The best place ever to leave your doggie! 4/15/2007

Buster has been goung to Bark for over 3 years and he is always tired when he comes home and so excoted to be picked up in the morning I almost feel bad :) Bark is clean and there folks are awesome to work with. There is no place else I would send my baby! Pros: Clean, friendly, convenient more

i would recommend 11/20/2005

I have been sending my 3 year old German Shepard to Bark since they opened and have never had a problem. I read an earlier review and I was a little suprised as I know that they have both inside and outside play areas. They even have a heated tent outside and I do know that it is air conditioned. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for day care. They are consistent, freindly and convenient. Everytime I have been there I have found the staff to be friendly and the facilities to always be clean. I am glad that I was able to find them and am happy with their services. Pros: pick up/drop off, friendly staff, clean more

Great job Bark Chicago!! 11/11/2005

I have sent many of clients to Bark because not only do the dogs come home exhausted from PLAYING, the staff and owner really care about the animals. Many kennels I have researched only let the dogs play for a couple of hours and then they sleep in crates for the rest of the day. At Bark, they get to play, hang out in a heated tent or snooze on a nice leather couch inside. They are very concerned with the needs of different breeds and that some are a bit ""dainty"" and others like to tumble. I would recommend Bark 9 times out of 10 for most dogs. The only reason I may suggest a dog to another facility is if they are animal aggressive and need to be able to hang out without others dogs around. Pros: friendly staff, love animals, CLEAN!! more

User review by romainedog 8/13/2005

Bark Chicago is essentially an all outdoor facility. In the Chicago area it is far too hot in the summer and far too cold in the winter to have dogs playing outside for 8 hours a day. I have a very small chihuahua and they told me that he would love the snow and that he would be fine in the cold. Are you kidding? I cannot even get him outside my condo in the winter. I'll be looking for a facility that is climate controlled! Not to mention the hard cement would be so hard on his little paws... Cons: outdoors, no heat, no AC, cement more
