I feel like I hit the local lottery when I found Dr. Bailey! What a wonderful vet. He has a very calming approach to the animals and displays a patience like no other vet I've met over my many years as a pet owner. He is very responsive to calls, e-mails and general inquiries. He recently performed a minor surgery on my 7 month old puppy. Although I knew my dog was in ‘perfect’ hands---I found myself wanting immediate responses to my questions about his well-being following the procedure. Dr. Bailey was on top of it---He called with a complete detailed summary of the surgery, the recovery. He expected the little guy to go home within a couple hours. As a side note---the incision was so perfect, it was barely noticeable. Overall, if you are looking for a vet with all the attributes I mentioned---he's your guy! You won’t be disappointed! more

I had become dissatisfied with my dog's 4/4/2012

I had become dissatisfied with my dog's vet and had been contemplating changing when I discovered Dr. Brown about 2 1/2 years ago. My senior lab had a paw injury and her regular vet wasn't available on Saturday and rather than go to Dove Lewis, I contacted Dr. Brown's clinic. Even though they'd never seen her before, they took such wonderful care of her, and me too, that we continued to see her until my dear girl had to be put to sleep last November. Isabelle's health began to seriously decline last fall right as I was leaving for a European vacation but fortunately, she was able to stay at Dr. Brown's clinic and I was able to keep in touch via email and phone. It gave me much comfort to know she was being cared for by Dr. Brown and her staff. It was a very difficult time, nursing a pup who had been with me for 14 years but Dr. Brown was always available to me, providing me with thoughtful, reasonable advice regarding her care and supporting me when it came time to make the difficult final decision. I felt we had become just a number with the prior vet and it's been refreshing to work with someone who is so caring and empathetic. Brenda is a wonderful, compassionate, caring professional. more

I am extremely pleased with the 4/4/2012

I am extremely pleased with the veterinary services provided by Dr. Brown and the friendly, competent staff at at Cedar Mill Veterinary Hospital. For the past several years, Dr. Brown has done an excellent job of caring for our family dog and two cats. I have always been pleased with the care she has provided and the time she has taken to answer all questions. My appreciation of Dr. Brown has only increased in recent weeks as she has helped us to understand the nature and implications of two serious conditions recently developed by our young cat. She has done an excellent job of providing the information needed to reach a definitive diagnosis in the most cost effective manner possible. She has patiently answered all our questions and worked closely with us to develop a realistic treatment plan. She and the Cedar Mill staff have gone the extra mile in explaining home care requirements and demonstrating the procedures we need to perform. She has made herself very accessible to us, even on her days off when she provides test results and answers questions via email. I am very gratefuly to Dr. Brown and all the Cedar Mill staff for their support during this difficult time. more

After some thought and contemplation, I 4/1/2012

After some thought and contemplation, I decided to follow Dr. Brown from her closed clinic, Cedar Hills Pet Clinic, to her new facility. This was a mistake. I took my 12 year old cat in for his yearly check-up and there just wasn't a whole lot of care taken in to this appointment. His weight and temp were taken, and then Dr Brown came in to take a look at my feline. I asked a couple questions, and at her recommendation, I had blood work done on him as well. She took my cat out of the examining room and I waited quite a long time for blood work. An assistant brought him back and mentioned he had a urine analysis in addition to blood work and in his awkward, unfriendly way, ended my appointment. I actually had another question for Dr. Brown, and I thought it was odd she didn't bring him back and had me interact with someone I barely knew at the end of the appointment when I decided to follow her into her new space since her old one failed. She didn't follow through with writing a prescription for food she promised, nobody told me how I would receive the results from his blood work, oh, and the urine analysis I never agreed to, and I never had an opportunity to ask a question I felt was important. I voiced my concerns to the receptionist, and Dr. Brown came out to talk to me. She didn't care to ask me what my other questions were when I said I had more, and she just didn't care. I also got charged a great deal for this check up (Over $200 for a rabies shot, a look over and some sort of senior panel when I only agreed to blood work) She emailed me the next day with my results, not called as she said she would, when she came out to address some of my concerns. This place of business may have had good reviews, but their new doctor fell short. Just didn't sit well with me. My kitty is 12 years old, and if he were to have something life-threatening or something like that, I can't imagine bringing him back here. I work in customer service full-time, and I'd be kicked to the curb if I lacked compassion like that. I will never go back here and nobody seemed to care. more

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic 3/2/2011

I have been going to Cedar Mill Veterinary Hospital since I moved here two years ago. I have been incredibly happy with both the staff and Dr. White. It is obvious that the entire staff truly cares about my dog, which is such a comfort to me. Dr. White has been amazing - he really takes the time to not only examine (and try to calm) my dog, but also is not afraid to ""think outside the box"" when it comes to his treatment plan. He is an advocate of treating holistically when possible, instead of just always prescribing drugs. He is also very patient with me, answering my many questions, as I tend to be anxious about my aging dog. The staff are absolutely wonderful also. Every single technician is both professional and caring and the follow up phone calls to check on my dog are so appreciated. I love these people!! more

For that personal touch... 3/1/2011

I've been going to these guys since my family moved to Oregon in '92 and continue to go to them even after I moved further away even though there are 3 closer vets. They're well worth the drive, all of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous, and Dr. White really makes the effort to connect with your pet. When I adopted a very scared puppy mill rescue dog and brought her to him, he spent 20 minutes just talking to her and encouraging her to come out from under the bench rather than scaring her more by dragging her out. You just don't get that kind of care anywhere else! more

Terrible treatment 7/29/2010

Don't take your dog here if they are even slightly scared of the vet's office. I have a very happy black lab mix that gets nervous at the vet, and I told this to Dr. Bailey when he came in. This caused HIM to get nervous of my dog, which set my dog even more on edge! The vet was too scared to get close unless I put a muzzle on my dog, which I did even though my dog was clearly scared to death.\r \r I had come in to get blood work done to rule out a thyroid problem, which my dog's trainer suspected he had. The vet told me twice he didn't think blood work was necessary, even when I insisted it was what I wanted to do. Finally he agreed to do the blood work and took my dog out of the room. He came back five minutes later only to tell me that he couldn't take any blood because he is 'too unruly.' What sort of vet's office doesn't prepare for nervous dogs? \r \r On top of that, I had to pay the full cost of the visit, even though all they did was take my dog's weight and have ME perform a flea more

I only wish I had found this place about 2 years ago! 12/9/2008

In a crisis situation with one of my cats I went to a vet in SE to get a 2nd opinion. They were not able to help me, but recommended I go to Cedar Mill Vet Hospital. I've been nothing but absolutely impressed and confident in their care ever since. I was unhappy with the staff at the vet I first took my cats to when I moved here 2 years ago. The cats used to be very calm at the vet, but ever since a cross country flight, they get very nervous at the vet's office. The staff at the first vet's office acted very unprofessionally about this, acting like my cats were going to attack them or something. This in turn made them more nervous. I've only taken one cat to Cedar Mill so far, but she did great on both visits. She was much calmer because Dr. White and Dr. Bailey are absolute professionals and very calm. They both do an amazing job explaining the situation, diagnosis, cost and they speak to you with respect. I recently picked up my cat from surgery and the vet assistant could tell I was interested in the details and she spent more time with me than she needed to explaining it all to me. That meant a lot to me. Cedar Mill also has this cool website called Pet Portal where you can keep track of their immunizations, their next appt., etc. I am so glad I found Cedar Mill and do not plan on ever going back to any of the nightmare places (that were more expensive too!) that I went to initially. Pros: great location, friendly staff, reasonable prices, very nice, clean facility Cons: I wish I knew about this place 2 years ago! more

Looking for a caring, competent vet care? 6/6/2008

Highest praise for Dr. White at Cedar Mills Veterinary Hospital. Dr. White was extremely caring and gentle with my very anxious cat who was in a lot of pain when he broke a bone in his paw . I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pet and wants it to have the best medical care. more

Vet hospital with caring staff 6/5/2008

Dr. Bailey sees all my pets. My dog has chronic skin and eye issues. He's very gentle with my dog and explains the medical conditions any of my pets have in detail. When I've had questions, he answers them thoroughly. When my pets have lab work, he promptly calls me. The rest of the staff there is friendly. They get excited to see my dog. They are also cheerful. Pros: GREAT vets, polite staff, nice building Cons: Labwork is expensive, stupid cage fees when you leave an animal for treatment more

BEST VET SERVICE 4/30/2008

I have been taking my pets to Cedar Mill Veterinary Hospital since 1989. I have had couple of dogs & cats thru the years. He and his staff are helpful, nice, caring and respectful to me and my pets all these years. Dr. White makes sure that I understand the condition and treatment of my current dog, Millie. We love her very much and knowing that she's in good hand with Dr. White and his staff makes things easier! Pros: good location and hours more

Best Vet in state of Oregon 4/16/2008

Dr White and his staff are awesome. I have been using Cedar Mill Veterinary since 1991. Dr White and his staff are all very caring with animals, very upfront on diagnosis and help you to understand the care and treatment that you need to follow. I recently boarded my two dogs at Cedar Mill Veterinary and while I was out of town one of my dogs became very ill. Dr White and his staff contacted me to keep me up to date every day, sometimes more than once of day and virtually saved the life of one of my dogs. I would give this veterinarian the highest recomendation. Dr White is the best. Pros: This vet is the best, has convenient office hours and loves the animals he treats. more

Great Veterinary Office 4/4/2008

Dr White and his staff take excellent care of both my cats, one a geriatric easy going ball of fluff, the other has been tormented by a previous Vet and hates going. Dr White and his staff are great with both of them. I had been to 3 other vets in this area and hadn't found someone who I felt took good care of my cats. In addition, he has been willing to help me find a medication routine that works for my cat who has an ongoing condition that has no cure. I appreciate their caring attitude and helpfulness. Pros: Caring vet, good value, good service. Cons: Haven't found one yet. more

Kind Hearts 8/19/2005

Dr. Rick White at the Cedar Mill Veterinary Hospital has a very kind heart for animals. He has a true love of the animals. If you are in a bind and your pet needs something very expensive he has even been known to make payment arrangements, which is often unheard of at other clinics. They also board pets here at a reasonable price. If your animal is here you don't need to worry that it is being properly taken care of. more
