Mickey R obviously has a problem. This kennel is great. Furthermore, I don't think Cedar Lane is even doing training despite the note at the bottom of their website page. I even asked Peter if they could help with a training issue with our dog and he said they don't do that any more. So Mickey's claims of the up-sell seem completely falacious. \r \r Peter and Susan have been like a second family to our schnauzer. They are very kind and caring. A second hand story does nothing to support Mickey's fable no matter how dramatic. It's a shame that defamation like this is so routinely carried on these sites, as it may steer away someone who needs a good kennel and will miss out because of this guy's angry rant. more

I had a problem with this place several years ago and had to pick up my 1 year old lab after they claimed my dog tried to bite someone. Then they try to sell you training. Well its 5 years later and guess what, my dog has never bitten anyone and everyone love my dog! I write this today because I remember how rude and ignorant the owner was toward me that day and I got reminded at a dog park this weekend of this horrible place by a nice older couple with a sheperd mix who had a similiar experience to mine. They were told their dog needed training after they left him there a few hours and that they would have to pick up the dog if they didnt sign up for training. When they picked up their dog he had trouble standing and they worried he was abused. They were very emotional telling me the story and I really felt for them, Thank god I got my dog outta there after a few hours. I know there are some good reviews on here, but I felt compelled to let someone know about the experience we had and someone I met at a dog park told me. Would rate zero stars if I could. more

If I could give Cedar Lanes more than 5 stars I would! ?We have a 12 year old and a 7 year old German Shepherd. ?It has been many years since they have been boarded, and the old boarder is no longer in business (and was also very far). ?My 12 year old is my retired K-9 and is very focused on it just being me and him. ?Not only am I VERY particular with who would watch him, with his background and training, it does take a special ""outsider"" to know how to handle him. ?We needed our dogs watched because we were going out of town for 6 days. ?Cedar Lanes is practically in our back yard and ?read so many good reviews, we decided to board our dogs there. ?We initially did a scouting trip to look at the facility and talk to Peter. ?It is very clean, spacious and the quality of care is obvious. ?Peter (the owner) is amazing!!! ?We feed our dogs RAW (which is chicken, beef, etc) and Peter had no problem with this. ?He asked many questions to get to know our dogs, wanted to know what we expected, and we talked until everything was discussed and we were very comfortable with him. ?It all started when it came time for them to be boarded and Peter took my head strong 12 year old, he trotted right next to Peter with not a care in the world! ?I've never seen him go that easily or comfortably with someone. ?We agreed for 30 mins a day play time, snacks and grooming on the last day. ?Fast forward to pickup day. ?They were both groomed and placed in the grooming kennel when we came to pick them up (and Peter was right on time with having them ready). ?I went to get the 12 year old first, and when I called him, he was so relaxed in the kennel it took him a few to get up, then as he was headed to me he sniffed Peter in a friendly way before coming back to me! ?I was slightly offended he wasn't more excited to see me and was more concerned with saying bye to Peter. ?LOL!!! ?The grooming was amazing, they looked like brand new dogs, they were shedding very bad before. ?Peter gave us a debrief as to how they did and said they were very well behaved. ?So I highly recommend Peter, and believe me we are about the pickiest when it comes to care for our dogs. Between value, quality of staff and facility and the way we know our dogs were cared for, we will ALWAYS use Cedar Lanes! more

My husband's father, who lived out of state, became very ill when our dachsund litter mates were puppies. We had to rely on our vet's recommendation of Cedar Lane Kennels, one of two kennels recommended to us for boarding. Anyone who has ever been owned by a doxie knows how strong their personalities are. On arrival, they literally runs through the door! What appeals to us about Cedar Lane is they are an established business. The facilities are private and very clean. Even though Kleveland and Toledo have been boarded there on a regular basis for 11 years (we call it their spa), we are always asked if their vaccinations are up to date. The scheduled play times are a plus! And when can you call a business today and the owner personally answers the phone? When we pick up our guys, they are always freshly groomed. We never hesitate referring Cedar Lane Kennels. Satisfaction guaranteed! more

We have been leaving our 14 year old jack russell at Cedar lane whenever we have to travel. We have never had to worry about our beloved dog because he is so well taken care of. Our dog is never anxious about going and he is healthy and happy when we pick him up. In addition there grooming services are excellent. Pros: loving, conscientious care for your dog more
