No Response regarding donations. 10/29/2011

When my husband passed away I indicated that any memorial donations that people wanted to make be made to CAT.My sister tried to contact them numerous times to set it up with them. We wanted to be able to thank the people who donated on our behalf and on the behalf of CAT. Most calls were not returned. She finally left a message that she wanted to talk about making a donation and that call was promptly returned. She explained the situation and what we wanted and again, no call back. She then sent an e-mail to their CEO and Accounting MGR and still no response. We had adopted 2 cats from there and always dropped off food for their food bank. Needless to say, my support will go elsewhere. I do wish the best for all the cats. more

happy adoption 1/20/2010

i had a great experience adopting my little boy kitten here a few days ago. the environment was very clean and healthy for the cats, and all of the cats seemed not only healthy, but happy. they have a TON of cats so i ended up spending a good 3 hours there trying to decide which one i should take. it was the hardest decision, they are all so cute and loving! the staff was really patient and helped me pick out the perfect kitten ( i had to be picky because the kitten would have to work well with my current cat at home) andn answered all of the questions i have. i have adopted from the oregon humane society before and i actually like how the cat adoption team is set up better, its less like they are trying to get you to take home this specific cat right now, and more like take your time, make sure its a great match and if you dont find one today, come back another time! it was a great experience for me and i love the little guy i adopted. the only thing i would say was negative is that it is very hectic there in the upstairs area and they tend to nickle and dime you more so here than at other shelters (ex you have to pay for the carboard kitty carrier you take them home in where as at the humane society they give you them for free, you have to buy the collar and tags where as the humane society gives you them for free) but they do give you a bag of litter when you adopt and some kitten food to take hom for free so thats a plus. Pros: very clean, cats were well taken care of Cons: a little hectic more

Found the cat of our life! 3/19/2009

I had searched on the CAT web site for cats and fell in love with one of them just based on its profile and picture. My husband, kids and I went to meet the cat I had seen. We met Stacey, who told us where to find the cat we had seen on the web site. We filled out a profiling questionnaire that told us the most fit cat personality for our family life style. We spent time in a secluded room to meet two different cats seperately. Stacey pulled some background history on both for us. All four of us fell fin love with the cat I had see online. We filled out the adoption papers and only then we were told about the indoor only requirement and no declawing. It was fine with us, however those mandatory conditions should have been explained earlier in the adoption process. Pros: Great time mtg cats, friendly staff, wonderful experience Cons: Not told upfront that cat had to be inside and not declawed more

No donation from me 8/20/2008

The idea behind the business is a great one. Too bad they don't have a more personable staff running it. I left a message about a potential adoptive cat. The lady who returned my call was RUDE. She started by getting my name wrong and didn't apologize when I corrected her. Then she asked me some questions about the situation. I didn't get but 2 sentences out when she started talking OVER me. The third time this happened I didn't stop talking myself but just continued on. Finally, her solution was ""we couldn't take a cat like that unless you gave us at least $1000 donation. I would never allow a cat like that in my house personally."" You just lost a potential $1000 donation. more

Unfriendly, unhelpful, rude. 11/29/2007

A coworker of mine and I BOTH had horrendous experiences with the Cat Adoption Team. Both of us have adopted several animals from shelters and volunteered there, so we individually turned to the CAT to find a home for 2 strays. In my case, there was a female stray cat who was living in my carport. In my coworker's case, there was a mother cat with kittens in an abandoned car. In both of our cases, we could not introduce another cat to the household, but really wanted to find homes for these cats. Cons: Unresponsive, unhelpful, RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE. more
