Casa Maya

It's hard to find decent Mexican food in Morris County. Yes, there are TexMex places and fast food joints, but happily one long time favorite, Casa Maya, takes it to the next level. On a recent visit, we started with mushrooms in a flavorful brown sauce - a delightful appetizer and one my wife and I decided we would order again and again. Just as we finished the mushrooms, our main dish arrived - my wife had their mole chicken - 2 chicken breasts in a brown sesame sauce. I tasted her dish and decided that I would have that next time. And I had their shrimp wrapped in bacon (it comes with a discount coupon for a heart bypass). Man was that good so that chicken will get skipped next time? This is a BYO place so be sure to do so. Expect to wait on Saturday night and remember you are in the Great Swamp so watch for the deer on the twisty back roads to and from. We saw several. One last thing, their homemade salsa and chips rate as the best around - almost a good enough reason to go if you are chip-addicted. more

I Love mexican food and have been to many mexican restaurants including baja, on the border. but i really love to go at Casa Maaya. Its one mexican restaurant where u would love to go again and again not only because of the food quality but also because of the service and the ambience they have. The people working in the restaurant are well mannerd and soft spoken. Well, the prices are a bit high but then its the only mexican resturant around that place. more

Casa Maya is a great small Mexican restaurant in the middle of a small town that has very little restaurants to begin with. The food is almost very good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great,. The only problem is the prices can sometimes get a little high. more
