Cary Family Dental-1149 Kildaire

I really enjoyed the service I got from Dr. Acton at Cary Family Dental. Unfortunately, exorbitant fees and ridiculous cancellation policies have prompted me to seek care elsewhere. The office staff is very rude and condescending. Beth is the absolute worst with Melissa being a close second. They have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Really? I just cancelled an appointment with 32 hours notice and was told to expect a bill for $50. I guess they don't get that life happens...work happens...kids happen. I can understand being billed $50 for not cancelling within 24 hours, but 48? It's gotten ridiculous. They know I have good dental insurance and they really take advantage of it. They charge the maximum for everything and will tell you that certain procedures are 100% covered, then send you a bill. Not cool. If you want to be bombarded with marketing and pleas for 5 star reviews and if you never have anything come up that could cause you to need to cancel an appointment with less than 48 hours notice, this is the practice for you. I'm guessing they're hurting for cash flow to pay for their new facility. That's the only reason I can think of to burn someone who has been a patient since they first opened their practice. Shame on you guys. more

Dr. Acton is my family's dentist. We have been his patient for 7-8 years. Our kids have been going here since they were in kindergarten -- now they're in 5th & 7th grades. Love the family-oriented practice with professional staff. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my family's dental needs. Highly recommended! more

I've been to a lot of dentists but Dr. Alton --and his staff--is by far the best in terms of competence and attitude. \r \r First, he saved a tooth another dentist said couldn't be saved. He is the first dentist to thoroughly read my chart/history as well as financial realities and talked to me about a plan that worked for me and to work with my insurance and budget to mazimize outcomes. He also called and emailed to see how I was after some grueling visits.\r \r I also really appreciated the positive, optimistic attitude of his staff. They all are very positive and encouraging. They have completely turned around my dental health and my attitude towards dentists and dental care.\r \r Dr Acton is also active in the community, working with dental and other charities. He even shaved his head for one. In May or June, he and his staff devote an entire day of time to a charity--you pay, and can use your insurance, but you get a tax write-off for what you pay, so it's a win-win for everyone.
