Carpe Diem is Fabulous! 6/24/2011

Our son started at Carpe Diem when he was 4 months old, and is now 22 months old. When we started our search for a daycare facility for our first child, we quickly discovered there were lots of options in Frisco. We made a list, did some research, and took recommendations from friends we trusted. We narrowed it down to just two places that we were seriously considering. We toured both places a few times, and liked Carpe Diem better; however there was a wait list for the infant room. We don?t have any family locally, so we definitely could not take a chance on the wait list. So, we put in applications at both Carpe and the other place, and kept our fingers crossed that a spot would open up ? and it did! While I was still on maternity leave, they called and said they had a spot for our son. We decided to tour both facilities once more, just to be sure (Carpe Diem was more expensive), and let me tell you? you see the world through very different eyes after having a baby, and the advantages at Carpe Diem were even more apparent. The staff is wonderful. They love the children, and it shows. The children love them right back! I am always amazed at how many teachers know my child, even though they have never had him in their class. The director, Ms. Zlata, goes out of her way to build relationships with the children. Even Ms. Phyllis in the kitchen knows all of the children (and believe me, they all know Ms. Phyllis)! I love that the owner, Ms. Ashlee comes by and spends time on a regular basis, and that she knows all the children as well. My son is always excited to see her, and runs over with a big smile to get a hug. They have a dedicated full time music teacher and Spanish teacher, so it is part of the daily curriculum. They have the perfect balance of age appropriate curriculum, structured and unstructured play. Even the infant room has daily visits from the music teacher. All of the teachers are degreed in fields directly related to early childhood education. The teachers do a wonderful job of communicating with us, and we have one-on-one conferences on a regular basis. In the infant room, they have a 3:1 ratio which is better than the state requirement. They have 9 babies and three teachers, and typically have an assistant teacher for most of the day as well. The infant room also has two separate crib rooms that are separated from the main infant room by half doors. The crib rooms are kept dark and they play ocean sounds, or the like. As you know, infants are always all on different schedules; this really helps the babies to be able to eat, sleep, and play on their own schedules without affecting each other too much. The facility is very secure. You enter the facility into the lobby, and the directors? offices are right next to the front door (watchful eyes). To pass through the door leading to the classrooms, you must enter your passcode and place your finger on the fingerprint scanner to unlock it. The hallways are wide and bright with natural light from the skylights, with classical music playing in the background. They have a library, computer room, music room, two activity rooms, and separated age appropriate outdoor play areas, so the children have several changes of scenery throughout the day. They even take the infants on buggy rides around the hallways. The play areas are fenced in (of course) and they face residential areas or open fields (not main thoroughfares). I could go on and on, but I suppose this review is long enough! Carpe Diem is fabulous! more

Carpe Diem Frisco! 6/24/2011

I get so very excited when talking about Carpe Diem Private Preschool! After having a nanny for 2 1/2 years and being totally against our children having to go anyone near a daycare type of environment until a certain age, we discovered Carpe Diem. By 2 1/2 our son was full of energy at home and needed desperately to burn energy, build social skills and grow academically. The main concern is that he be in a loving, caring environment. We literally visited every preschool in Frisco -there was no match to Carpe. Our son is still there and is now 4 in addition to our 2 year old daughter. Both absolutely love going daily! The staff is by far the cream o' the crop! All are a reflection of the owner who is extremely passionate about the school and the kids! more

Best preschool to raise Confident, Happy and Smart Kids 6/24/2011

My daughter started at Carpe diem just two months ago. She recently turned 3 and we looked at several preschools in the area before deciding on Carpe Diem. When looking for a preschool for our daughter our focus was not only academics but her all round development. I am very happy with the extremely clean facility, nutritious food and caring and loving teachers. Although my daughter just started there, she has developed better as a kid and is growing into a beautiful big girl. She is more confident now in expressing her ideas and doing very well in her music, Spanish and computer classes along with her academics. We are very happy with the decision we made for our daughter and are happy to see that she already misses her school when she is at home. That speaks a lot! more

Smart, happy, well-adjusted children...thanks Carpe Diem 6/22/2011

We have been a part of the Carpe Diem family for over 5 years now and have 2 daughters enrolled there. Believe me when I say we have shopped around the entire daycare circuit and we are confident that there is no comparison. Our most important criteria when searching for a daycare were cleanliness of the facility, trustworthiness and warmth of the staff, and the level of care and education given to our children. I can assure you the facility is immaculate, the staff could not be more qualified or endearing, and the curriculum and care given to our children has been nothing short of amazing. Most of the teachers that were there 5 years ago are STILL there which is unheard of in the daycare industry. Our children are known by every teacher, not just their own. The food served is healthy AND our kids love it. The curriculum has produced 2 very smart daughters who learned through fun and creativity, allowing kids to still be kids. Our oldest daughter had an easy transition to Kindergarten and performed at or above the class for the entire year thanks to the preparation Carpe Diem gave her. The best testimonial of all is that our kids love going there everyday and talk about missing it when they are not there. You can't beat that. more

Best School in Frisco! 6/10/2011

We did a lot of research when looking at schools for my three year old and we knew right away that Carpe Diem was it! The staff has become like family to us and our kids love to go to school every day. It is the best feeling as a parent to go to work every day and know that your children are in the hands of people who love them as much as you do! We love Carpe Diem and cannot say enough great things about the program, staff and facility! more

Carpe Diem Rocks 9/11/2009

My three year old son has been attending Carpe Diem since he was 1 ? years old. Since he has been at the school, he has become very independent in his thinking and in his behavior. He is learning how to relate what he learns in class to his everyday experiences and observations. For example, in his class they did an art project of Beethoven. The project required him to sponge paint Beethoven?s hair on construction paper. He came home telling me his Auntie Stacy has big hair like Beethoven. My proudest moment of his independence just happened recently. He woke up at 4 am and went to potty all by himself. He didn?t come to my room at all. When he was done, he climbed into his bed and went back to sleep. I said to myself, ?My baby is growing up.? more

Carpe Diem is the best preschool in Frisco! 9/11/2009

We love Carpe Diem! When we moved to Frisco a year ago, we went in search of a pre-school for our infant and older toddler. What we found was a place where our two girls not only learned alot, but were loved by the teachers and staff. My now three year old is high spirited, and they were able to take that energy and turn it into a very positive trait. We love that she now is more self disiplined and can play with the other children better. She loves her computer and music classes and we love that we can watch her via the web-cam in all of her classes and know that she is having fun and being cared for in a manner that we feel good about Pros: low teacher ratios, web-cam access, loving staff more

Great Preschool! 9/8/2009

Our daughter attended another preschool in Frisco and we were not pleased with their teaching methods or the friendliness of the staff. One of our neighbors recommended that we tour Carpe Diem. We felt comfortable as soon as we walked in the door and so did our daughter. Pros: Wonderful learning environment and caring staff more

Wonderful Preschool 9/8/2009

We moved our daughter to Carpe Diem almost 2 years ago and have never looked back. Ater experiencing Carpe Diem we would never even consider another preschool. We even drive across town to get there! The teachers and staff at Carpe Diem are absolutely top notch and promote learning and growth in a calm, stable and nurturing environment. Not only is Spanish, Music and Computer tought each day, but manners, kindess and a strong appreciation for the world around them is promoted in everything the children do. We could not ask for anything more in a preschool!! Pros: There is no comparison!!! Cons: Wish they went beyond kindergarten!!!! more

For any parent looking for quality childcare 9/3/2009

Carpe Diem has a fantastic childcare program. I have been at other childcare facilities and this program is the best. They offer many programs that others do not at an early age. Also, the teachers are of very high quality! My kids really enjoy school which sets a good foundation for life! Pros: Spanish, Music and Computers Daily more

Excellent - Best preschool in Frisco! 9/3/2009

The teachers are great, and there is very little turnover, which provides consistency to the children. My son and daughter have learned a ton, and still have plenty of time for play - that's part of the curriculum. The staff is very approachable, and really care about my children. I researched A LOT of places and couldn't be happier with my decision. Pros: Great teachers and Curriculum Cons: A little pricey - but well worth it!! more
