Carolina First is a good hometown bank. I have banked with them for about 3 years and have been pretty happy with their services. They offer a free checking account and your first check order free. They staff at the two Easley branches are good to deal with and will help you in anyway they can. I would give them a try. They are only located in the South and you will not have access to them if you travel farther than that.
