Carlson Bros Roofing

While they did my roof at a fair price. Now I am having leaks, They made an appointment with me for Ron Carlson to come and give me an estimate on repairs for 8/30/18. Never showed up and now will not return my calls!!! Will never use them again or refer them to anyone! THANK YOU CARLSON BROS FOR NOTHING!!!!! more

5 years ago we found Carlson Brothers on one of these "find/rate a contractor" web sites. One of the owners came promptly for an estimate; the repair was done quickly competently; they cleaned up after themselves very well, and the owner checked on the work with us at the end. So when a different part of the house needed roofing work this season, we went back to them without checking the reviews. Mistake. The secretary told us they were booked up because of recent storms, and gave us a choice of a 2-day job soon, or a 1-day job further along. We were desperate because rain was coming, so we mistakenly chose the 2-day job. They arrived in the afternoon, splitting the time with another project, finished half the work and cleaned up thoroughly. Then left without telling us when to expect them the next day. Heavy thunderstorms were coming on day 2, by the afternoon we were calling the office and owner who promised they were "around the corner" or "picking up materials". They finally arrived at 6:10 pm; 90 minutes before the rains were forecast. They did a competent job of finishing the roof and re-hanging the rain gutters, and then left at dusk without further cleanup. Five days later someone came to pick up the trash in their dumpster-in-a-bag, but they never swept the roofing nails, wood, or pieces of tar from the roof, rain gutters, or yard. Over the next week I collected a dozen or more nails from the ground by hand, and Carlson still hadn't sent us an invoice. One family member got a flat tire from a leftover nail. Contacting the office by email, they finally scheduled the end-of-job visit for inspection and payment. When Carlson arrived, he got an earful about the cleanup, expressed surprise, and took the nails with him as evidence. We haven't heard from them since. After the last rain, we found a pile of wood scraps at the end of the rain gutter's downspout from stuff they had left in the rain gutters, and had to pay a gutter company to flush them clean. Amazing. I really enjoyed the whole process. They were very diligent to get back to me immediately after requesting a quote. I was able to schedule a visit easily with the office person (Denise) who was very pleasant. She explained that one of the brothers (Ron) would be coming to the house to take a look at the problem and give us a quote after. He came on the agreed date on time and looked at the problem. He also showed my husband what actually needed to be done via ipad which was great since obviously we are not roofers! He immediately gave us a quote. We did get other quotes from other companies but we decided to go with Carlson Brothers for not only the competitive price but they're overall professionalism and commitment. more

This company came across as dependable, respectable and a good choice. They came and in two days I had a new roof. They were neat, they cleaned up after their work and then left. However, it was not Carlson, they outsourced their work and we never saw anyone from the company on site. three months later, i had a leak in my ceiling from the poor job that they did. It's now TEN years later and I am still fighing leaks in the roof. Last yeari had to replace the ceiling after a horrible damaging leak. Guess what we found??? A large hole in the plwood that they should have fixed but didn't. Oh, but there is a generous 12 year warranty right? Think again!!! IF you can get them on the phone or to return your calls, they will tell you it's been however many years and then tell you it's too late. But they will come and give us a free estimate on how much it will be to make the repairs, while we are under warranty for workmanship. It was also super nice of them to give us a set time to come around for that awesome free estimate...sometime in the next week. Not a day or time, just a floating space of time. Save your money, time and aggrivation. Go somewhere else!!! more

Stay away from Carlson Brothers. They will take your money and will deliver poor quality work. The roof will leak in few years. Don't event think calling them for repairs - more

Had hired another roofing company to perform repairs and waited 6 months with them cancelling on me a bunch of times. Called Carlson and had a great experience. They came and did the estimate and told me it would be a couple of weeks until they could come (here we go again....)To my surprise they called back and asked if they could come the next week! Came and did the work very professionally. Was a bit more expensive then the estimate of the first guy but gladly paid to have it done right and when promised. more

they put my roof up in aug 2010 the salesman was great he told me what was going to be done and it was i had a issue after job was done they came right back and fixed it more

Carlson installed a new roof on my home in Garfield, NJ about 7 years ago. The work was completed in one day, the workers were pleasant and the property was completely cleaned up before they left. Then the nightmare began . . . I had to fight for them to come back for a service call during the warranty period and another shortly after the warranty expired -- both for poor workmanship: shingles were flying off the roof. The house has been vacant and for sale for the last few months, so I only know the condition as reported by the realtors looking at the property. I recently discovered a large section of shingles had blown off the roof, exposing a hole in the plywood beneath -- which I paid to have replaced, but was evidently never done. Needless to say, due to this condition, the entire house was flooded, through all three floors, and the ceilings are falling down due to water damage. In addition the rest of the roof is buckling in several areas and I've had to reduce the sale price by almost $30,000.00 to cover the damages which I cannot afford to repair. more

I built a new home and Carlson Bros., did the siding and a custom roof with desiginer high wind resistant shingles. When some of the shingles came off, they not only never showed up to inspect the job, (after assuring me they would) they ignored my subsuquent 15 phone calls. Use this outfit and be warned! more

They did some work on my home roof, they are just awsome, they did a great work, they are expensive but quality is flawless, and the completion time is also very less and they are very helpfull in moving stuff too, i highly recommend this place for Roofing repair or totaly redone. more
