I had a great experience with Carl's Van Rentals. I needed a rental for my trip out of state and they were one of the few services that allowed that.
Everyone that worked with me was on the same page. Sometimes, when you rent from a service, you deal with a person on day one, and deal with a new person on the next visit that is completely unaware of your situation. But, Carl's Van Rentals did a great job taking notes and communicating my information from employee to employee.
I went to their shop two months in advance. I made a comment about the tires being a little thin on the van I saw in the lot, and that I would like to have newer tires on my rental.
The first guy I talked with took really good notes, but wasn't working the day I picked up my rental. The new person that worked with me knew what I needed, knew that I was going out of state, and even gave me a 2014 vehicle with good tires to rent, which to me, felt like a detail that would have gone overlooked.
I had one issue when I returned the van. They sent me an email that they would have to charge me a couple hundred dollars to clean pet hair that had been in the vehicle. I hadn't brought my pet in the vehicle, so I was taken aback. But, when I went to collect a few items I forgot in the van, and inquire about the additional charges, I couldn't deny the proof they had. I figured it must have been from a blanket I laid on the seat.
I liked how the salesperson dealt with the situation. He was prepped for the encounter, despite me arriving on location before he did, but not overly-defensive. He showed me a photo and dealt with the situation in a respectful manner.
