Won't stand behind their work 8/31/2010

I bought a manufactured home in September, 2008. Carl's Service installed the AC unit on it in March of the same year. In late August, 2010, the AC quit working. They wanted $85.00 to come out and look at it. After reading the other reviews on them, I got someone else out here. It turned out the AC unit was fine - the duct work had all come loose. I crawled under the house with the guy that came out to fix the problem and saw for myself that everything had been put together very loosely. I find it amazing that it lasted as long as it did. Carl's refused to to waive their fee, stating that there was only a two year waranty on their instalation. That's the shortest waranty I've ever seen in the industry. Most are between 5 - 10 years. After seeing their workmanship first hand, I understand why they only waranty it for two years. more

Tucson's Worst Business 6/16/2009

In my dealings with Carl's Service they lied, cheated and tried to see how much money they could get out of me. The original price quote was ignored. They pretended to forget certain details of our agreement. They yelled and acted completely unprofessionally. They accused me of being at fault because they will never take responsibility for their work. They were slow and very hard to deal with. They turned a simple problem into a nightmare and never actually got the work done as agreed upon. I had to go to a competitor of theirs to find professionalism, honesty and integrity. I truly despised my experience with Carl's Service and have recently found that I am one of many that they have tried to scam. Consumer beware! Carl's Service is a bad choice all around if you want fair prices, good customer service and the truth. Pros: A couple of nice women in the office Cons: Owner and Management, Scams, Dishonesty, Non-Stop Issues more

Top notch service 10/5/2008

In Jan 06 we had an upper end Trane A/C- system installed with new ducting in our home. After much research we had Rite Way do the job. It has now been over 2 1/2 years now and this system is truly outstanding. Also Outstanding is the service and quality of the work that Rite way preformed in and around my home. Rick Walter the owner, came to our home and gave us the estimate. We had 2 other estimates by local A/C companies done and Riteway was slightly higher priced than the others. However Rick took more time with us and made sure we understood all of our options. His presentation was far more informative and professional than the others. After choosing Rite Way the installation began and took the stated 3 days. During this time it was evident that the level of professionalism and courteousy that Rick had displayed is prevalent thru-out the company. Workmanship was top notch. The work area was cleaned up after each days work and the process was not as invasive as I had thought it would be. Today, 2 1/2 yrs later the system, and all work has been flawless. Thank you Rite Way!\r Also, this summer Rite Way installed a similar system in my parents home. They were also very impressed with Rick and the quality of the work and service that they received. Now 3 months later, my mother still remarks on how smooth and quick the process was, and how ""nice "" the techs were.\r On a final note, after recomending Rite Way to my daughter for her A/C upgrade in Febuary of this year, she decided to have a non licenced A/C tech from another company do a ""side job"" install for what was a great price about a $2k savings. All was well till last month when the system only blew warm air until it was shut down for a few hours. And guess what? the warranty was thru the installing tech who was nowhere to be found and would not answer his phone after 3 wks. I will not go into too much detail here but Rick @ Rite Way to the rescue. Way above and beyond typical service. U GET WHAT U PAY FOR. Pros: Service/ quality/workmanship more

They Just Want Your MONEY!! 6/18/2008

I came home from work one day at 8 months pregnant to a house that was 95 degrees; my AC had broke. I called numerous companies to come out anf ifx it, but they were all booked for the next 2 days - Except Rite Way. They told me that it would be an extra overtime fee to send a worker out that day. I said that I'd pay it ($120) becausse I needed my AC that night, when the worker got to my house, he said that the fan motor had gone out and that he could fix it that night for $800. needless to say I couldn't afford it and I was hesitant because I just felt like something wasn't right... I thought to myself, my house was only 2 years old, maybe it's under warranty. I told the Rite way worker no thanks and paid him and he left. the next day I called my initial C installer and asked them if i had a warrenty on my AC still. they told me that I had a parts warranty, but i would have to pay either them or another certified company for labor. I called Rite Way back thinking I would use them since I had already paid them the large diagnostics fee. There phone secretary told me that they could not install the new AC motor for me if it was still under warranty, that I would have to pay for the part and pay for it to be installed also, at the $800 rate. I called my initial installer back and told him the reason that Rite Way couldn't install the motor. They LAUGHED and said ""Rite Way just wants your money!"" The initial installer sent a man out that day and got my AC fixed for $119! It sure beat the hell out of the $800 that Rite Way quoted me on! Don't call Rite Way for your AC, they will overcharge you an arm and a leg!Later on my initial installer's worker told me that Rite Way workers have to bring in so much revenue and that is why they overcharge people and don't want to do the work if the parts are still under warranty... I highly suggest calling someone other than Rite way to tend to your AC problems. Pros: nice worker Cons: OVER CHARGES!! Not willing to fix if parts are atill under warrannty with another company - they want you to buy there parts for more money!! more
