After two appointments in Dr. Murdock?s private practice it became apparent that he is not the right provider for me. He is condescending, rude, extremely unhelpful, and absolutely inflexible in his demeanor. He displays minimal psychiatric acumen during his meetings and provided little insight. He seemed like he simply did not want to get to know me, or the issues that I have. I would even go as far as to say that he was apathetic. As the Roanoke Valley has extremely limited inventory of qualified behavioral health professionals Dr. Murdock?s position is in high demand. However, I would place his service at the bottom of the barrel. I believe that my time with him was as much as setback in my development as it was a waste of my time. Here?s to another six months without (paid) prescriptions until I can schedule an appointment with another provider. We have seen many psychiatrists to compareto Dr. Murdoch. He was the first who through his skillful diagnosis and asking the proper questions in a manner that made them easy to answer was able to correctly diagnose my daughter's problem, which had been severely misdiagnosed for over five years, leading her to being on medication that was actually doping her up but was harmful to her. I even went to her previous doctor and said that I thought she had been misdiagnosed but he would not listen.\r Dr. Murdock has an excellent manner and seems like one of the most intelligent and reasoning doctors I have ever seen. more
