I make the drive to Capannari's from South Bend IN. three times each summer and fill my cooler with Capannari 's Ice Cream. I have never been a real ""chocolate"" or ""black rasp...

Worst

Honestly, I can't understand the raves. Had their ice cream several times, and it's average at best. The Oberweis in downtown Mt Prospect is better.

It's the freshest ice cream i have ever tasted. Every scoop is heaping with flavor. Plus, you get service with a smile! Try strawberry in a waffle cone and i guarantee you'll be back...and back...and back... more

Capannari's Ice Cream is the greatest ice cream I have ever had. The service was excellent and they actually have black licorice ice cream! Pros: Inexpensive, Great service Cons: Too delicious, Always full of people more

Absolute Best 8/14/2002

We've been going to Capannari's since they opened. They even made a special flavor for us called Royal Ribbon (Chocolate Ice Cream with a Butterscotch ribbon). It was great! I have yet to have any flavor I didn't love! Pros: Hand made ice cream, family owned, great service Cons: only one location more

Awesome 8/14/2002

This place has incredible ice cream and a great environment complete with a flower garden/park for the kids to stroll through. A few select nights in the summer they show movies on the side of the historic building. The staff is friendly, and the ice cream can't be beat. Pros: Great Taste, Atmosphere, Kid Friendly more

This store has a very welcoming feeling. when you go to Capannari Ice Cream you are likely to see people you know. The people working there are very kind and very quick. You expect to stand in line for a half-hour to 45 mins and you end up getting to the counter with in the next 10. Also this is a great place to take kids and adults. there is a small park to the side of the building where you can run around and on certin nights there are movies showed on the side of the building. They also do fun birthday partys adn exciting tours all year round. This truly is the best ice cream around. Pros: inexpensive, great service, welcoming more
