Canine To Five

We adopted our rescue, Gibson, almost a year ago and he's been going to Canine to Five doggie day care most every day since. He loves playing with the other dogs and his interaction with the staff has helped him learn to be trusting of people again. We love the flexibility Canine to Five offers especially on days when I am unable to pick up Gibson mid-day. Paula and her staff understand the dogs and their needs. I feel compelled to write about this wonderful establishment. My two beloved pugs stayed here for 5 days. They were treated very well by a loving and attentive staff. Playtime for the dogs is supervised and the staff gets right in there and throws the ball, provides companionship, fills up pools for play in the summer, even takes pictures for the owners to be able to see what their dogs were up to all day. The facility is clean and happy. It is obvious that the owners and staff have a genuine love for dogs and that they are not just going to ""work"", but rather enjoying the company of the animals and taking pride in performing such a loving and valuable service. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their dog and wants to provide the ""extra"" love and effort put forth by Canine to Five. more

I have just moved to the Richmond area and was looking for a new place to board my dog for the upcoming holiday. My dog has been boarded many times before so I know what to look for. When I walked into Canine to 5 the place reeked. The staff was unaware I was even in the building and there was no one to be found watching the dogs. I gave myself a tour of the facility and left. What a horrible place!!! The dogs were in a room all together, unattended !!! It was quite dirty. This place needs to be reported to the SPCA. Inadaquate staff, dirty facility and totally digusting!! I wouldn't take my do to Canine to 5!!! Cons: Right next to auto repair shop, horrible air for the dogs to breath more
