Camp: A second home 2/23/2011

My family and I have been going to this camp since it's inception. Many of my family members still volunteer there. I was both a camper and counselor for many years and miss going every summer. I think Ker-Anna is a great place to make friends, spend time outdoors and in the sun and have fun. I've always had a blast there and can't wait to send my kids someday. more

This camp was alright. I went there two summers ago, and didn't like it very much. Its very outdoorsy for those who are wondering, its also a catholic camp, which i found out when i was there. There's a lot of singing and group activities, and you have to do chores. I was personally very homesick and thought it lasted to long. I also really didn't make many friends while being there which killed the experience. But the group activities were fun and so was getting one free time every day. You get to do things from archery, to canoeing, to playing with bb guns during free time. The other thing is, we stayed up too long and woke up too early. They had us go to bed around 11 and made us wake up at seven which i didn't like because i felt like i hadn't got enough sleep the whole week. But other than that, the owners are very nice and most of the staff is cool too. more

Good: I loved going to the over night camp and all the activites and friendships i made while there. Now that I am older I realise that i loved the moral values and responsiblities they taught us and how to be committed to something and work as a team in order for something to work out right. I loved the cabins we slepted in and the one night sleep over in the woods in a tent. I loved how we got up every morning and sung to our flag and our earth and how every night we did the same. i liked how we had mass.. Bad: cleaning the bathrooms but appreciate the point of having chores now.. Improvements: Some of the staff should have look deeper into the children and saw what capabilites they had and helped them to use that to motivate the team and the camp as a whole. You could tell even at the young age of 8 that there were favorites and some of the camp's counselors were they just to have fun and not help improve a child moral.. Other: Over all i enjoyed this camp so much I would love to volenter my time and devote two weeks of mylife to being there a a older counselor and help the chilren learn and grow. Teach them the better things in life. Mother nature life learning process. Help to make the world a better place, by instilling good values and morals into children at their inspiring age.. more

Excellent Camp 4/4/2009

Camp Ker-Anna is an excellent place for children to go to have fun, and to make memories that will last a lifetime. Many people trace their life decisions on what they learned in the summers at Ker-Anna. As a mother of 6, all of whom went to Ker-Anna, as an educator and faculty member at Rhode Island College, as a Director of Religious Education in Massachusetts, I give Camp Ker-Anna high grades and recommend it for anyone looking for a quality experience for their children. more

Fantastic CAMP...No two ways about it! 8/8/2005

Camp Ker-Anna has been a staple for family reunions but mostly Boy and Girl Scout camps for years. I was a boy scout for 6 years, and every year Camp Ker-Anna was a treat. There were canoes and kayaks for fishing in the pond, a huge pool with a flexible diving board, about five cabins to house visitors, and a large indoor basketball court to play sports. This place is in the backwoods of Cumberland, RI. If isn't too difficult to get to, and any visitor will be rewarded with a relaxing and fun-filled time. Usually people come with their own programs ready, and the camp staff and ranger do very little to plan events. more
