I went for the first time to the open mic night tonight located at the Camp House. It was a fantastic venue and the host was exceptional, coffee was good as well.
There was a diverse line up of tallent, and it was fun watching the show. Even the performers that were nnnnn not so good were entertaining and fun to watch.....sooooo why the 3 stars?
Well I had to push myself to do the 3 stars, at first I wanted to put 2 stars.
I was wholly put off by the voting system for the performers. I did play tonight and some might say I am irritated that I did not win or even get in the top 3 picked to play a third song, however it's just an open mic night, who cares, certainly not me. But to pick the winners by how many people they could get to come see them was really silly. O if I got 4 people to come and vote for me and someone else had 5 friends there, the 5er would win. That's disappointing, no just dumb. Sorry guys, but a great song writing talent that had one friend come had no chance, that's just not cool. Other venues have judges and that is way more fun...
