Good: All the small individual cakes called here pastries, cozonac - a traditional romanian sweet bread shape like a loaf filled with walnuts cream. On the apetizer side they make wonderful fresh sausages - just a delight. This is one of the best places for true european cuisine that is so different than the american style of sweets (they are too salted) or the american sausages that have all kind of spices that don't make any sense in the taste of a true sausage.. Improvements: Open more locations throught so cal. more

The BEST romanian cakes around! 4/6/2007

I went to this place to buy some traditional Romanian cakes. They have the BEST Romanian cakes around! They have great stuff there! I will name some of the cakes I got: cozonac cu nuca, amandine, savarina cu frisca, diplomat! WOW! If you are from Romania or you like good cakes, this is definitely a place for you to go! They also have great bread and great" taitei". Go and try the place, you won't regret! more

Romanian bakery 2/27/2006

So, I was in the mood for a good old cookie...oatmeal to be exact. I cruised into Cakes and Stuff...because they have cake...and stuff, right? And stuff should be like, cookies or something, right? I mean, a normal bakery? Uh, no. Not knocking this place or anything. It just wasnt what I expected. I didnt even know there was such a thing as a Romanian bakery. So, what I found instead was lots of desserts and pastries...the flaky pastry type of thing...like baklava type stuff. NOT my thing at all. But I didnt want to be rude, so I picked up a couple items for my boys and they really liked it. So I guess its a thumbs up. If you're looking for good old Romanian cakes and breads, this is your place! more
