The Scene
With its wood-beamed chalet style, Cafe Fiore looks every inch the relaxed, European ski-vacation restaurant--even though it's just a quick drive from gaudy Casino Row. With only 24 seats, reservations are a must, especially during prime ski weekends. In summertime, diners enjoy the mountain air under shady tables on the patio.
The Food
Punchy garlic bread, thin "crepes" of eggplant stuffed with smoked salmon and an unapologetically rich fettucine alfredo are among the favorite starters at this intimate eatery. After that, try the linguine fra diavolo in a spicy marinara sauce or veal scallopine with wild mushrooms and a lemon-white wine sauce.
