Cafe Aromas

I called Cafe Aromas Weds. afternoon, Oct. 19, to order a cake for my daughter 1st birthday which was on the 22. All I needed was the mini cake for her to eat andI knew I was cutting it close but Cafe Aromas took my order and said it would be ready at 11 on sat. Well come 10am on sat. I receive a call from Cafe Aromas that the cake was running behind and wasn't quite finished and they asked if I could pick it was at noon (the party started at 1). With no other choice I said ok. When noon came around my grandparents went to pick up the cake and was told that the cake was at another store and still wasnt finsihed. My Grandmother was kind of upset and said that the cake should have been done at 11. The woman at the front proceed to tell my grandmother that it was my fault the cake wasn't done because I ordered it too late... After that comment she was told they would deliver that cake to my house. (At this point I couldn't risk not having a cake for my baby so we had to buy one from Publix.) About 20 mins later I received a call from Amy saying the cake would be late, there would be no charge and she was sorry. After the cake arrived at my house I took it inside to take it out of the box. The cake was smushed against the side of the box, the writing was very small and it looked NOTHING like a teacup. It was just a couple of layers of cake with a so called handle was broken in two and laying off to the side. I didn't even take it out of the box it was so horrible. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. Not only did the cake look like a pile of pink mess but the unprofessional comment made to my grandmother was unacceptable. They should of never accepted an order if they couldn't complete the task. more

Approximately 2 weeks ago, I ordered a birthday cake and 24 petit fours for my wife's birthday party. I instructed the lady at the desk that the party was on Sept. 18, 2010 and I would like to pick up my order by noon. She took down all of the information as usual. I am a regular customer with this bakery and I spent several hundred dollars for my daughter's birthday cake and routinely buy cupcakes for the staff in my office. I called on Friday, Sept 17th to confirm my order and the pick up time. The lady who originally took my order said that there was no record of it. She then told me that she put me down for the 25th and not the 18th. Of course, by this time I was very upset because it was 5pm and I had no birthday cake. I was instucted by the lady on the phone that the owner, who bakes the cakes and who I have met numerous times would call me back. Since I am a physician and this bakery is right around the corner from my office, I decided that it would be best to communicate face to face. When I arrived, the owner told me that there was no way she could have my petit fours because it takes her 48 hours to make them. She then stated that she would not be able to make my cake because she had 3 weddings on Saturday. more

I have used Cafe Aromas and the services of the Brown family for years. My most recent experience was for my companies Vision, Mission, Values, employee meeting. We served all sweets. I promise you that you literally heard people saying hmmm this is good during the video conference. We purchased a chocolate chocolate cake and a strawberry cake. I loved the chocolate so much I got up to get another slice during the meeting. The strawberry cake was just as awesome and moist. After this meeting I had the same experience I had a few years earlier when they did a cake for a wedding I had planned. People were literally standing in line to take cake home. Yes, people actually lined up at the wedding and at the meeting at work to make sure they received a piece of cake to take with them. more

I live close to downtown Lawrenceville. I try to give a lot of our family business to the shops in the square. We eat at Dominick's for all of our special occassions. We love McCray's for Sunday brunch after church. I buy gifts and stationary at The Paper-Fairy. And our favorite pizza is Cosmo's on the square. I recently had the opportunity to try Aromas on the square. This was the BEST cupcake I have ever tasted ! I loved it ! more
