Halibut and Mojitos 3/7/2006

The food and service are excellent. My favorite is the almond-crusted halibut and any mojito, of course! The serving sizes are well-proportioned to the cost (mostly), but expect to pay around $15/entree, if not more. Cafe 28 can also get busy, especially on weekend nights. I have not been yet for brunch, but I also expect this place to be crowded then, too. A couple last notes: the bathrooms (and entire restaurant) are very clean, and there is a lovely outdoor patio at the back of the restaurant and, therefore, away from busy/noisy Irving Park Rd. more

Fabulous food 1/13/2006

Try the plantains...mmm. You're sure to get a good meal from just about any choice on the menu. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale, and wait staff are well-trained. Came here with friends and was very impressed, want to take the hubby with me next time. We moved close by, I hope we get to go soon. Upscale Latin Food 8/30/2005

Not your typical Mexican restaurant, this restaurant serves fusion Latin American cuisine (mostly Cuban and Mexican). The food is good as are the drinks, but the wait can be long if you don't have a reservation - the wait is well worth it though! more
