I Will Not Continue To Shop My Local CVS Pharmacy 1/2/2007

For several years I had all of my prescription medications filled through CVS pharmacy located on St. Mary's Avenue in Parkersburg. I was never satisfied with them because no matter when you took your prescription in, the standard greeting was, "it'll be ready in about half an hour". One morning I arrived before the store opened and sat in the parking lot waiting for someone to open the door - still the same response. Now why in the world would it take half an hour to count out 30 pills to the first customer of the day? Why did I stay there you ask? It's simple, there was one woman who worked in the pharmacy named Debbie, who was a breath of fresh air. I know that she was not a pharmacist but I don't know what her title was. I do know that she always had a smile, she greeted me by my name, and took the time to research any questions I had instead of automatically checking the box that states that the patient had no questions. After several visits there and not seeing her I inquired as to where she was. I was told that she had taken another job. The next time I came back I asked where she had taken another job at so I could contact her, I was told she had moved to another state and could not be reached. A few weeks later my daughter and I went out to a local restaurant and can you guess who was our waitress? None other than Debbie! Now, I am sure that CVS had their reasons for the firing of this fine woman; but she was totally bewildered by it. Because of the personal nature of this I won't go into any more detail. I will say that they lost a great employee and they lost my business, the business of my S/O, the business of my landlady, and the business of my next door neighbor. Debbie was the reason that a lot of people tolerated the rudeness of several of the other pharmacy employees. I do understand the No Smoking indoors policy, but it seems a bit outrageous that this particular store also posted a No Smoking sign outside at their pick-up window, meaning that I was not allowed to smoke in my own car if I was picking up a prescription.
