Best

Their garlic bread, cheese sticks and calamari.... awesome for real... I love it!!

Worst

so for years i have heard about C&O and how great it is - mostly the garlic bread knots is what people talk about. so finally i was on this side of town and actually craving ital...

Cool Spot 1/17/2007

Just like Trattoria down the street, C&O Cucina has the same killer garlic rolls they are famous for. We started with the oh so delicious calamari and a couple of pleasantly suprising strong cocktails. My wife had an excellent Alaskan Salmon and I enjoyed the Cajun Rib Eye. Great spot for dinner as a couple or a group. more

Fun atmosphere, great garlic rolls 11/18/2006

The food is decent/average Italian, but I go back anyway because of the nice outdoor seating, the goofy waiters who sing, and the amazing garlic rolls that are just addictive. more

The rolls! The ROLLS!!! 11/15/2006

Smaller than its sister restaurant further down the street, C&O Cucina is a cozy place but still can get quite crowded. Ask to sit at the bar when the dining room is packed. The bread rolls are just as good as the Trattoria. The staff is very friendly but the entrees are just decent. I mainly come for the rolls though. Cons: gets very crowded more

Hot bartender, great service, unbeatable prices 9/4/2006

The first time I dined at C & O Cucina, I sat in the main dining area of the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Overall the food was excellent, and so were the prices considering the portions. The server was friendly but not over attentive... however the atmosphere seemed more targeted towards families and children. When I went back the second time with some friends from work, we sat in the Martini Lounge, which is a sports bar/ lounge atmosphere with candle light, Frank Sinatra, and football games playing on the TVs. The blonde bartender was super hot, and friendly as well. She made us some excellent drinks, which were definitely not on the weak side, and she reccommended the White Salmon, which was terrific. The happy hour menu was pretty good (although no one must know about it because we were pretty much the only ones there... fine by me). I will definitely go back again, especially for football season. more

Pleasant, friendly, good for kids 8/17/2006

We didn't know there were two C&O restaurants. That Tratoria is, apparently, further west down Washington (and solely patio seating?). The Cucina, however, is more restaurant-like in that you are inside, etc. We opted for the Cucina and weren't disappointed. We were seated right away (about 6:45pm on a Friday night). We have a two-year-old who enjoyed drawing on the paper place mats with the crayons provided at each table. Our waiter was friendly and the someone who appeared to be the owner or manager checked in with us probably two or three times about how our meal was, etc. That was nice. I ordered the fire grilled shrimp, which I thought was great. My wife had lasagna. We had plenty between us to also feed our daughter. We'll go back. Pros: friendly service, paper place mats for toddlers to draw on Cons: parking (they do have valet, however) more

Not a cheap eats. 8/7/2006

I was expecting a lot from C & O since it received a 9.2 rating under the cheap eats category. I personally do not think it should be categorized as a cheap eats, but the portion of the food is much more compared to other restaurant. The free garlic rolls were not that great. They should have made it softer, the rolls were quite hard. It could be me, but I prefer my bread soft. My friends seem to like it, but my favorite Italian restaurant is still Palermos in Hollywood. Pros: Valet Parking ($2.50), Service, Great for Parties Cons: Food (7/10) more

So much better than the trattoria 7/30/2006

So, its better looking...not as busy...friendly servers. Thats Amore! The trattoria has its place as a gathering spot for some random friends birthday, but the Cucina is a place you and a friend can go for dinner. My favorite part was the bar/ lounge- attractive, great bartender, and the best happy hour. Great food for cheap and GOOD drinks too- try it from 4-7pm. I love to avoid traffic there. Yes, the portions are huge and the actual dishes not much to write home about- but tender calimari (no tenticles), amazing garlic rolls and stiff drinks! Pros: bar, great happy hour, better than the trattoria Cons: not gourmet more

THE place for mediocre food and crowd noise 12/13/2005

Some reviewers say this place is romantic... sure, if your idea of romantic is not being able to have a conversation with your date because the ambient noise is like being at a pro football game. The food was just as disappointing -- the portions are big, but so what when the sauces are bland. Pros: server was nice Cons: noise, food more

Great little bar next door 8/16/2005

My friend and I came across this very hip ""rat pack"" tribute bar attached to C/O. You can have your food served in there, too! GREAT martinis and awesome decor!! A must stop by if you're on Washington Blvd and wanna grab a tini and nosh on some garlic rolls. Cute and trendy little hang out bar!!!!!! Bar scene great for dates and ladies/guys night out! Pros: Drink List, Decor, Prices Cons: Parking/valet more

Always Disappointed 8/4/2005

I love the Original C&O, but when I'm feeling lazy and not wanting to deal with the parking down at the Original, I lose my mind and go to the Cucina instead. I am always disappointed. Today I was treated to a salad that must have been waiting under a very hot heat lamp for quite some time. This C&O is notorious for double or triple frying their garlic rolls instead of making fresh ones if you go during off hours. Someday I'll learn my lesson but hopefully I'll help one person not to make the same mistake. Pros: convenient parking more

BIG PORTIONS, small flavor 4/30/2005

After MUCH hype, I decided to visit. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the actual taste of the food. If you go for big meals come here & if you want bland tasting sauce... come here. Pros: big portions Cons: food was bland more

Very disappointing 4/29/2005

The garlic bread was amazing, but it's all downhill from there. Once seated, we waited for 90 minutes to FINALLY get our food, which was very mediocre. We had a large group and one of our members didn't receive their food when everyone else's came. After 15 minutes without the waitstaff even returning to see how everything was, we went to find the manager who said it had been cooked wrong. When the dish eventually arrived at the table, it wasn't the one that was ordered! My chicken parm was like a reheated fried pattie. It was not fresh or tender at all. The sauce and pasta were good, but the dish just wasn't interesting. The gargonzola salad was decent, but drenched in dressing. Overall, our experience was negative- Bad service and uninspired food (for the price). There are many places in the area with better food and comparable prices. Pros: garlic bread Cons: bad service, average food more

I highly recommend 2/27/2005

It's L.A., traffic is horrible or maybe I was just fashionably late, anyhow we came here for my birthday and our whole party did not arrive until 45 mins after the time our reservation was set for. You would think that they'd be mad or that they would have given out table away, but they hadn't. They were great! The energy, the food, it was all perfect. To top it off, the chocolate cake was delicious...try it! We had minor issues with the bill..ie. extra orders of food and drinks, but they quickly took care of that. I cannot believe how attentive they were. Everyone should definitely try this. Pros: parking, food, attention more

What a night!!! 9/21/2003

This place rocks, it's brand new and just like the one down the street it's a lot of food... We ended up drinking a whole bottle of wine, getting some after dinner martinis at the bar, than we all sang along to a Dean Martin song, it was lots of fun. Pros: Bartenders, Fine Waitresses, Good Food Cons: not in my corner, too much food, wait more
