Great place to have dinner, nice (not loud) music is great for conversations. They have big private rooms. I love rib eye and Butcher Shop is the best place to try it! more

We went here on a Thursday night, party of 8, at the last minute, looking for a casual place to get a decent steak. Butcher Shop's schtick used to be a kind of fun "you can cook your own steak" concept, but didn't see anybody doing this, nor did the waiter offer this option. The decor is a bit tired, and the room was fairly empty. Bar service was quick and friendly. The waiter wanted to start us off with an appetizer tray that frankly didn't seem very appetizing, so we declined. He didn't seem really thrilled about that. He also seemed a little grumpy when most of us declined other appetizers or salads before dinner. (Not ringing up enough $$$ I guess) The steaks were decent, cooked to the correct temperature and everyone seemed pleased. Quality of the meat not quite "Morton's" quality of tenderness, but passable. Another waiter presented the dessert tray, and he was a much more friendly fellow - so I guess your experience here depends on the luck of the draw with the waitstaff. Bottom line - it's not a bad place to get a steak on I-Drive, but don't go in expecting a "wow" experience like a top of the line steakhouse such as Del Frisco's, Capitol Grille, Morton's, etc. Pros: Easy to get a last minute reservation, decent steaks Cons: Tired decor, waiter attitude could have been better more

we tell everyone we know about this place! we love everything about it! the look, the food, the staff, all of it! the steak is the best ever, and worth every penny! we have always been made to feel very welcome, and very special. its such a awesome place to go to! we just wish there was one closer! we have made the drive (2hr) just for the steak once!! lol... its that good!!! I won't return to this tired spot. The waitress was not very warm or friendly. We had reservations for a large party but on a Sunday night. The restaurant was having a slow night so should have been happy to have us. I asked about the a la carte sides and was told they were for 1. Well they arrived and were large enough for 2. I really regretted paying $5 a side that I could have shared. One of the sides I chose was brocolli. Well your steak comes with a large piece of brocolli, so my side was kind of wasted. I have been to Captiol Grill or Morton's of Chicago for less and their sides are clearly for sharing with your table. We were made to feel like this was not welcome here. My partner's steak was sour tasting. If that is thier aging process, then they can keep it. Many in the party asked for water and we were charged $5 for bottled water with no mention of it or question if we wanted tap water. Usually, you are asked this sort of thing. The service was phenominal, Our Server (Marshall) was courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. I had requested a Bleu Cheese sauce for my steak, our waiter suggested a house special sauce (Bleu Cheese, Peppercorn, & Mushrooms) - and it was outstanding. My family & I have been coming to the BUTCHER SHOP for about 15 years. We went the first time we came to Fla, and return every time we're here. The food is excellent, prime rib melts in your mouth. The only downside in my opinion is the alacarte side orders. Otherwise I highly reccomend this for any steak lover out there. The staff is always courteous & friendly, and I have NEVER had a bad meal here. We give it a 2 thumbs up! Pros: best prime rib more

The steak and ambience was just horrible. The servers were very rude. The manager was ver rude and not helpful. Want a good steak go somewhere else. Burgerking is even better than here.
