Nonya B. obviously banned from Bubs 1/9/2010

Nonya B. must be crazy or has been banned from Bubs. Bubs is still the best hometown bar in Chapel Hill. If the bar only cared about profit then why would there be $1 cans of beer offered EVERY day? They not only offer the cheapest beers and booze around, but also games to keep you entertained. Bubs has always been about having nothing but a good time, and if you can't handle that simple rule then Nonya B. is right to keep looking. There is no other classic bar around that holds such a creed and follows it. So unless you have been banned like Nonya B. and want to have a good time with friends go to Bubs. more

Not Recommended 1/8/2010

Bub's has a generally sour atmosphere. As the business is more concerned with profit than providing value and serving the customer, this makes for a lousy experience. If you're looking for a good place to drink, keep looking. more

Fun times! 12/4/2008

Bub O Malleys used to be a beer only bar until this year, when I came back to school for this semester I stopped in with a few of my friends to find out that not only do they have the cheapest beer ($1 specials everyday) but they have the cheapest liquor in town now as well. There is plenty to do, a full sized shuffle board table, pool, fooze ball, ping pong, darts, beer pong, just to list a few. I recomend it to everybody : ). more

Bub's...not popular, but still fun! 4/16/2006

Apparently not many college students go to Bub O'Malleys (i have never seen it crowded), but when my friends and I run out of options, we head there and have a blast. They have like 40 draft options including Battlefield Black and Hummingbird from the Red Oak Brewery in Greensboro, and they have cool games (Penthouse and ChipN Dales picture search), which is always a lot of fun! more

Great for those in search of hole in the wall bar 7/14/2005

Bub's was my home away from home during college and we go back anytime we are in Chapel Hill. It's a beer only bar that has a wall of 40 beers on tap as well as numerous bottled beers in many coolers. New patrons sometimes don't understand the draw of Bub's, but the regulars know that it's a great place to get a beer and relax. They have plenty of entertainment including ping pong tables, shuffleboard and lots of video games. A jukebox is the only source of music and the neon lights provide the lighting. more
