I had a problem with my VW Jetta TDI, it just died. The dealer said it was the camshaft sensor and it would cost $1400. I thought I would try Brown's because they are a local business and I like to support small business. At first, they said it would be a couple hundred dollars but once I had the vehicle there, it was $1500 and it didn't fix the problem and they sent me back to the dealer with no refund because they didn't have the tools to diagnose the issue. He blamed it on me saying it was ok to do the work. I did say that after he told me he diagnosed the problem and it was the same as the dealer, however he couldn't diagnose the ECU because he didn't have the tools but he was "near certain" that it was just the CAM sensor. Two weeks later, it's all the same codes and it turns out to be the ECU. The dealer would have just fixed it. Don't bring any complicated vehicles to this guy.
