My husband and I were married there several years ago. The place is amazing. It is a historic, gingerbread style building built over Clear Creek, which runs through the middle of the dining room! Dining is on tiered levels and among natural boulders. The lower levels are wheelchair accessible. You can have your wedding service and your reception all in the same place and the guests don’t have to drive to a hotel! That is a big advantage.
When we got married, we had an evening wedding that was just spectacular. The place just sparkles at night. We had candlelight on the tables and hammer dulcimer music playing. The effect was truly magical!
The centerpiece of the building is Honeymoon Bridge, where many couples choose to exchange their vows. When my husband and I were married, we said our vows on the bridge and we return to the Brook Room every year for our anniversary dinner and a kiss on Honeymoon Bridge.
The Brookdale Lodge has some charming cabins, in addition to their rooms. If you are getting married, consider renting the Honeymoon Cottage. They hotel rooms are simple, but some have been remodeled into theme rooms, like the Marilyn Monroe room.
The Brookdale Lodge also has rooms for rent for smaller events- the Mermaid Room even has a large glass window with an underwater view of the pool!
In the Brook Room, you may find a few uninvited guests at your table- The Brookdale Lodge is famous for having ghosts in the Brook Room and has been featured on many television shows about ghosts and unexplained phenomenon.
