Brewed Awakenings

Starbucks has some pretty good coffee, but it doesn't provide that comfortable atmosphere if you're wanting to get away and work, or relax. Brewed is Vancouver’s living room! Enjoy excellent tasting coffee, as well as comfortable couches, plush chairs and a fireplace to sit in and got some homework finished! The ONLY downside is that their blenders (in which they use to make wonderful shakes and smoothies) are loud. Other than that, it's the best place to go if you're looking for great coffee and a very comfortable environment. more

I've done the Starbucks thing... many times. But the coffee, in my opinion only, is just too bitter for my taste. But at Brewed Awakenings, I've never had smoother tasting coffee. It's rich without being filling or thick. The BEST iced mocha ever along with their White Cow Mocha. Their Black Forest Mocha is awesome and comes with a chocolate dipped cherry for an extra treat. I haven't had a lot of their pastries, but I have had their Chocolate Chip Hazelnut Scone and it's wonderful. If we head out of town, I always make certain I get a coffee here since I know there won't be one where I'm going. They have the best customer service too and it's so cozy if you decide to go in and stay for a bit. They even let me order whip cream in a cone for my two young girls who don't care for ice cream all that much. Give it a try, you won't be sorry! more

The very best thing about Brewed Awakenings is that they provide FREE wi-fi! (Compare to Starbucks, which charges something like $5/hour.) They have a fireplace, a comfy couch, and overstuffed chairs. It's like home with service. In case you don't bring your laptop, you can use their computer gratis. My goodness! They carry all the normal coffee stuff, the best iced tea in town, and wonderful hot tea that I've found nowhere else. Ice cream, other desserts, and pastries are served here, too. It's usually not very crowded, especially in the evenings. more
