Breadfruit Authentic Jamaican

The best Jamaican food I've had outside of the islands! This independently owned restaurant serves fresh seafood, chicken, and tofu, priced between $11 and $25. Had the Appleton rum scallops for an appetizer, and they were large and succulent. Next came the Red Stripe curried prawns, which were very tasty and just a little spicy. I had to come back a couple nights later while still in town to try the jerk, which they blend themselves. I had the special, free-range jerk chicken. It was spicy and flavorful and juicy. My traveling companion had the wood smoked mussels and thoroughly enjoyed them. Now for the rum bar: More than 100 different rums to please the most discerning customer. The rums range from the Caribbean to South America and even a Tennessee rum! The cocktails are made with fresh ingredients and mixed by knowledgeable bartenders, and they're glad to help you through the multitude of choices. The dining area is rather small, so while you may get a seat during the week, reservations are definitely needed on the weekends. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant and will be back at least once during my next trip to Phoenix. more

Great food, cool wait staff...SNOBBY OWNERS AND HOSTESS! This has been the case all four times that I have eaten here...so sad! Can't give my money to rude people. Oh well I will miss the fish and spinach patties. more

Everything they serviced were cooked to perfection with the best healthy organic ingredients possible. I was particularly delighted with a Jerk Prawn Off The Grill dish. Fantastic! All exotic juices are great, too. Waiters are very friendly (they need to be. This is a small restaurant.) and knowledgeable. If you like spicy exotic food or if you are a health nut, this is the place to be. If you are junk food eater, go elsewhere. Then.....there are other good restaurants near by, so this area is my place to visit. Hope you enjoy as much as I do. more
