I've also had similar problems. When I first moved in, there were problems with my doors not closing all the way. I had maintenance guys come in and ""fix"" it and they did a crappy job. The maintenance guys would come into the apartment to do ""routine maintenance"" work even when I requested for them not to come in when I was not home. The office told me there was no way to schedule the maintenance time to when I would be home. I was also taking care of a dog for my friend and the manager called me one day and bluntly said ""are you hiding a dog and that's why you don't want our maintenance guys to come in to your apartment?"" REALLY?! How about more along the lines of, I have personal belongings in my apartment and don't feel comfortable having strangers roaming around when I'm not there?? How unprofessional is it to accuse your tenant of wrong doing when when it wasn't even fact. It was rude and unacceptable.
Apparently their auto-pay isn't connected directly to this apt complex, so if you have a problem with paying too much through this company that does auto-pay for you, the apt will take your money in a heartbeat but ""can't"" fix it and you'll have to go through the auto-pay company. My lease was up in mid-Sept, which meant I only had to pay a prorated amount for the days until my lease was up.I had set the autopay to go up until Sept. but apparently the apt told me the autopay company ""doesn't know"" that I should only be charged a prorated amt so they charged me the FULL month's worth of rent. I called after I moved out to see when this ~$500 would be refunded back to me and the same RUDE manager told me it would take 30 days. I asked her where she would be sending the check and she hesitated and told me she didn't have an address (DUH, that's why I asked)--it seemed like their whole intention was to not even pay me back in the first place so having my new address was not a concern to them since they were never going to send me my check anyway.
About a month later, I get a call asking when I would pay my remaining balance (still have not received my check yet) and she said ""oh, that was used to fix up your apartment and we also used your deposit, and you still owe us ~$200."" My total cost of move-out came out to be nearly $1000 because carpet replacement in a 850 sq ft apt costs nearly $800?! OVERPRICED! especially when I know apts get deals to obtain cheap carpet. They are also charging me fee because the oven was dirty--I cleaned these VERY well before I moved out and the stains left on the oven were from normal wear and tear of the CHEAP kitchen appliances. I was also told they allow you to mount TVs, so I did in the bedroom and repatched the walls at moveout but on their list of fees they stated that the walls needed to be retextured.
Overall, if you move into this apt complex, be sure to NEVER give money in excess, even accidentally because they will NEVER return it to you and charge you ridiculous fees to keep every single dime that is RIGHTFULLY yours.
Also the stairs and hallways leading to the apts are full of cobwebs, spiders, crickets, etc and they charge you a pest fee to supposedly rid the apt of these. Obviously their ""pest control"" isn't working and they need to improve it or ACTUALLY do pest control like they say they do. (I've honestly never seen a pest control worker spraying EVER).
Sewage runs through the parking lots and the walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbors next to me and below me. VERY annoying, especially when my neighbors below me had domestic violence issues and would always argue at wee hours in the morning. And when they weren't arguing, they would blast their music up so high that they couldn't even call someone on their phone unless they were outside their doors.
Obnoxious tenants, unprofessional management, & they will take your money in an instant. They'll tell you that they'll return it and NEVER return it. I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE!!!
