Brandon Keith Hair

Brandon Keith is a genius! I went in with terribly faded out light brown hair that looked more like orange with long dark roots. Basically, I was a mess. I wasn't totally clear about what I wanted, I just knew I wanted it to be brown and look better, so Brandon pulled out his book and we looked at some pictures and agreed on a picture of a girl with gorgeous medium brown hair and he matched it perfectly! It's such a beautiful color and I'm so happy with it! I'm a college student who just moved to Boston so I was relieved to find someone good on my first try. Seriously, if you need someone for great color get over to see Brandon ASAP! I was able to make an appointment the day before and really enjoyed everyone I met at the salon (especially Brandon's dog! so cute!) My only complaint is that because Brandon is so good, he has a busy schedule and had to rush through my blow dry at the end because my hair was insanely tangled from the crazy weather. This shouldn't put you off, though. He is really great and so is the salon! Brandon is such a sweetheart and he will make you feel like you're in very good hands (which you will be!) Can't wait to go back! more

I started going here a year ago after moving back to Boston after several years living in London. I know how difficult it is to find a good stylist and experience here and surrounding areas, and gave BK a try on a walk-in whim. I've been going back religiously ever since, and consider the staff there friends just as much people I visit to help make me look great. more

Got a haircut here about a year ago, and I really loved it. Typically I tend to ask for the same style (layers and side sweep bangs, but nobody can ever seem to get the perfect bangs that I want - so I've cut them myself a lot and actually prefer it best haha, but that's off topic), but I roam around to different salons all over Newbury and compare each stylist to see who does it best so that I can pick a favorite/hopefully permanent place. My stylist was Melissa, and she was super attentive to my requests, and offered good insight and recommendations on how to make my hair look it's best. She really recommended color, which I would have loved if I had the extra cash for it, but she was so close to talking me into it that it made me think this place is more/better for professional coloring. Don't get me wrong the cut looked great and she even styled it a with a bunch of products (though maybe a bit too much product, because my hair felt a bit weighed down and greasy. The weighed down part I don't mind, since my hair is super thick and unruly, but nobody likes a greasy head). My boyfriend came with me and got his hair cut at the same time as me by some guy (he's not listed on the Web site) and he really loved the results. He's been wanting to come back ever since but never has the time/extra money to splurge on another haircut (even though he said this was one of, if not his best haircuts ever). So perhaps this is more of a male's hair salon? Which I think is great because from my boyfriend's experience those are hard to find. In short, the attention to detail from all the stylists and the fact that Brandon (the owner, hence the salon name) makes sure to come around to each station to offer his advice/support is really worth the trip/cost. They also give away 20% off coupons to first time visitors (though my visit was a year ago, so I'm not positive if that offer is still available), so that's a big bonus point on why you should try it out. I am really picky about my hair. I have had good experiences, very bad ones, and now finally an EXCELLENT one. Everyone there was so incredibly friendly, I have been to other Newbury salons and I do not like the stuffy attitude. No attitude, and all talent here. When i get my hair done I never get exactly what I had in mind, I always thought maybe that was too much to ask, but I got exactly what I wanted here, my self esteem was off the charts! My color came out exactly how I wanted, and I actually felt comfortable enough with them to take some suggestion on something different from my normal cut. AMAZING. The first time I went to Brandon Keith I had my hair blown out straight (I have curly hair) - and Brandon did the BEST job. I have had my hair straightened many times but he actually made it look exactly the way I wanted (for the first time in my life) and made the whole process fun. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Brandon without a wait and I'm so glad I went! Not only was everyone friendly and I felt comfortable, Brandon listened to what I wanted for my cut and color. I have never been more pleased. I have been to many salons on Newbury and all over the state and have never been as happy as I am with my hair. I will definitely return. I decided upon this salon for my special prom haircut after it was recommended to me by a friend. I showed up with a basic idea of what I wanted, but pretty much no color plans. This was no problem, though, as Brandon was great at both doing the cut I wanted, and deciding on an amazing color scheme. This was by far the best haircut I've ever had, and well worth the price. I'll definately have to come back, even if I have no special events to look especially amazing for. Pros: Amazing haircut done by friendly people. more

My sister has been going to Melissa for over 10 years and is always telling me how she can't live with out her. When I was looking to change things up and try a new cutting edge bob, I decided to make the trip to Newbury Street for an appointment with Melissa... I was not disappointed... Melissa not only gave me the best cut I have ever had, but I now have strangers stopping me and friends asking who cut my hair. I also had a deep conditioning treatment which was out of this world. after researching high and low throughout boston for a new stylist i happen to come across brandon keith salon and after much deliberation i decided to give him a whirl.i could not be more happier! the staff was super friendly, and down to earth, the salon was very edgy and modern but still very intimate and personable. brandon himself was just a gem - a complete artist. not only is he extremely talented but very interested in your own style and how he can incorporate that into your hair. i gave him the freedom to cut and color what he thought was going to look great on me intime for the spring and the finish product was dynamite!!! highly recomended!!! and he is very handsome too!! First of all, Brandon does the best blowout ever. He did exactly what I had envisioned but didn't think any one would every really get right (I have had my hair done this way before, always good but not quite what I had envisioned). I was even complimented by a news anchor woman - who I imagine is familiar with getting her hair professionally done - at the event I attended among many other compliments I received throughout the evening. But almost equally as important in my mind is that I was treated so well. Megan, the woman who washed my hair was great with me, Brandon was great with me, and Karla, the makeup artist offered her expertise generously. I highly recommend going here if you are off to an event and looking to look and feel great! I also imagine you would get a great hair cut here, although I did not have that done. My roommate had been going to Leon for a few years while she was in college and has been a faithful client to this very day. She even followed him from his old salon to Brandon Keith's Hair. I took her raving recommendation and tried out the salon and Leon and I have not regretted my decision since. I don't trust just anyone with my Asian hair, but he knew exactly how to handle it and gave me the best and most stylish haircut & color I've ever had! He gives me the cut I want and doesn't pressure me into wearing a hair style I""m not comfortable with. He even trims my bangs for free between cuts; can't beat that in this economy! I've had my fair share of crappy haircuts and dealt with stylists that treat their clients as a factory worker treats a product on an assembly line, but Leon is so personable and professional that I've officially made him my only Boston hair stylist that I'll go to. I followed Jacqui to BrandonKeithHair because she is an artist with color. I'll admit it--my hair is turning gray. As it has changed over the past few years, she has worked with the formula so it always looks great! My hair is often complimented on by strangers!!! I really love going to this salon too. I admit, I follow Jacqui around wherever she's working--she's that good. But it's really nice to see that she has found a salon that can complement her talents. The place is beautiful, the staff friendly, and the location is excellent. But if you're worried about the Newbury St. location, don't; the cost is reasonable and there is no pretension here. I was a first timer, going to Brandon based on color product and reviews here. The office person was very helpful and called me back after checking on a request. All staff was friendly, not pretentious at all. Brandon listened to my long list of wishes, made modest suggestions without pushing his opinions, and proceeded to cut and color in ways I""d never seen before. The result was totally fabulous. I cannot believe he got the color so right the first time, and I'm a copper blonde, not easy at all. more

I went to Brandon Keith's a couple of weeks ago after reading all the great reviews on Citysearch. I've never been very happy with hairstylists before, so I decided to splash out and see if a ""professional"" hairstylist really would make a difference. And it sure did!! I had my hair cut and highlights put in by Brandon and he did an amazing job, I LOVE my hair now! I wanted something stylish, easy to deal with and a cut that suited my face and lifestyle. I got all that and more!! The receptionist was really friendly and made great tea, the little dog is adorable and all-in-all I had a great experience. A bit pricey, but well worth it! When I got home my husband promptly took me out for dinner and I even got compliments from a complete stranger in the restroom, that has never happened to me before!! When I've saved up some more money I will be back! Pros: Talented friendly people all round Cons: A bit pricey more

I found Brandon Keith Hair here on citysearch, and even after reading all of the marvelous reviews of this place, I was STILL unprepared for the amazing experience I ended up having. The ambiance was wonderfully warm and friendly. Stepping into the salon for the first time, I felt overwhelmed by its chic/hip/coolness factor. But everyone immediately makes you feel right at home and completely welcome. And wow, do they definitely know what they're doing with hair! I really had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair --- all I told Brandon was that I wanted something different, and he was perfectly fine with it and maybe even a little excited to start. I've definitely been to places where I've gotten annoyed looks about not knowing what I want and needing a little bit of outside advice. But Brandon Keith Hair is totally not one of those places. Brandon was completely up for the challenge and he was friendly and fun all throughout the process...and I have to say, he worked wonders with my hair! I absolutely love my new haircut, and I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten since leaving the salon yesterday.
