Bowden's Fireside Hearth & Home

This is the most unprofessional place I dealt with. They absolutely do not know their own products. I ordered a custom made door and not only they did not measure it properly but rather than admitting an error they have been impossible to reach. I had an independent contractor evaluate their work and they still would not rectify their error. Finally, I got my money back by disputing a charge but then Tom (the owner) has been harassing me with a legal threats even though all I asked is for them to take the door back. Any of these positive reviews do not sound real based on my experience with this place. Stay away!!!!! more

What a joke! Lynn(Store Manager) and Tom(owner) at Bowdens Fireside have no clue. I gave them one star because you dont have the option for a no star rating!!! I have tried to contact them over and over about a grill. I have been in the store time after time trying to purchase this grill and they have no clue on how to price it. The prices change everytime I go in, delivery price changes, everything changes. Dont trust these people with anything. Do not shop at this store if you care about getting treated with respect! They will overcharge you for everything. JOKE, JOKE, JOKE. more

We purchased a pellet stove from Bowden's. We were very dissatisfied with their service. They neglected to place our order, causing us a long delay. They ignored our phone calls, and never called us to let us know our stove was in. They came out to estimate a price for installation, and then raised the price by $1000 more than the estimate, because they said the chimney liner would cost $1000. However, when we looked on-line, the price for the liner is normally $400. We tried to cancel our order, and they wouldn't let us. I can not recommend this store. more

I have been shopping at Bowden's Fireside Hearth & Home for 3 years now, and never have I ever had a bad experience. The employees know what they are talking about, instead of just selling the most expensive in the store. Also, they have great products and are very durable and reliable. Would recommend to anyone, great service! more

We had heard good things about Bowden's and understood they had been in this business for years so we had high hopes, maybe way too high. They were very nice and professional initially. We chose fireplace doors and were told they would come out to measure and that our charge card would not be charged until the order was placed. They came out and measured. A couple days later we received a call saying because of the size of our fireplace, we could not get the doors we had chosen and that we would have to get custom made doors. We told them we would be back in to talk with them because we did not know if we wanted to spend what it would require for custom. We never did choose other doors but our credit card was charged. We stopped in and also called about this - 6 months later, we received a credit. Very unprofessional and very disappointing. more

I would recommend this store not only for their selection of harder-to-find items, but mainly because of their knowledgeable employees. Everyone seems well-versed and competent, rather than just going through the typical "let me sell you this product" motions. I would return here without question. more

I did enjoy shopping at Bowdens because their product selection can't be found in other generic retail stores. They have hard to find items and the staff is very knowledgeable about the industry and will point you in the right direction if you are stuck on which model barbeque to choose. I would definitely visit Bowdens Fireside again that is without a doubt. more
