Told the vet one of our 2 beagles was anxious and might nip when getting a shot to be boarded. The staff didn't know how to handle this?! They created so much tension our dog had to be muzzled. When we returned after a week away we discovered them boarded in squalid conditions in a shack away from the main building in pens almost too small to turn around in, that reeked. Water was let in with a pulley system as if they were killer pitt bulls. These dogs sleep with children every night but here they were kept separated from each other and any other dogs, with no human contact. Worse, both dogs were labeled ""dangerous, will bite"" – even our puppy — beagle #2 who is the friendliest dog I've ever had! Both dogs have had skin conditions since that horrid time. It's painful to think we left them like that for an entire week. I'll never go there again! more

The go-to vet in Pittsburgh 9/21/2008

Dr. Heller has treated our dogs for 20+ years and she's the one we rely on to keep our dogs healthy.\r \r We tried a vet who was closer when one of our guys came down sick but after weeks of antibiotics and no indication that Rudi was getting better, we took him to Dr. Heller who found a tumor in a tough-to-reach place near his armpit. She recommended a specialty surgeon to removed the malignant tumor and saved his life. Nine years later, Rudi is healthy and happy... my daughter's very best friend.\r \r We also board our dogs there when on vacation and they are very well taken care of. They enjoy their visits while we travel.\r \r We give Borderbrook and the staff 5 stars.\r \r Pros: people and the way they care for all animals more
