The Broiler is back!!! 2/28/2010

The Broiler is a great example of mid-century modern architecture in the City of Downey. Car hop service every night. Car shows on Wed. and Sat. Pros: Really good burgers!! Cons: The food is great and you might have to wait. more

What A place! What A Story! 2/22/2010

This is nothing like the Bob's you know, it has an amazing vintage feel to it- both in the interior and exterior- You can't miss it driving down Firestone Blvd- like a beacon it calls out to you- stop in for a Big Boy Combo and a Malt! The pickle relish rocks! ..and if you like to kick things up a notch ask for a grilled jalapeno on the side. On Wed and Sat nights there are cruise in's of vintage cars and you can actually have car-hop service if you like. There are always some cool rides to check out. Seriously, this is Americana at it's best, fully restored-- there are not many places out there that have a sense of spirit or heart , but when you are at the Broiler, smiling, enjoying your Big Boy, watching a 1959 caddy roll in or a roadster you will want to come back for more! Love the new Bob's Big Boy!!! 1/20/2010

I found out about this new Bob's Big Boy from Citysearch. I recently checked it out with my boyfriend and we had a great time - the food was good, service was friendly and fast & the overall just loved the feel and ambiance of the restaurant. I'll be coming back again. I want to check out he Car Hop service next time. Pros: Great Service more

Can't Go Wrong with the Double Decker Burger! 12/2/2009

I came here with a few friends. We were really excited to try Bob's Big Boy Broiler - we saw the giant Bob rotating & bright lights from down the street. \r \r We walked in and the decor was very retro cute - it felt like we had walked into a 50's diner. The staff was very friendly & attentive. I ordered the Famous Double Decker Burger combo. It came with a salad & fries - amazing deal & quality! My friends got the chicken fried steak and chili spaghetti - they loved their dishes too. \r \r I found out that they have a car hop service from 4 PM - 10 PM - you can order & they serve you in your car. How awesome is that? They also have a drive thru! I'm so glad that Bob's Big Boy opened up in Downey. Pros: Retro Decor & Car Hop Service more
